My family has always had family dinners, as far as I can remember. When I was a little boy, my mother began to ask us to attend family dinners at least once a week. Every Sunday, my mother would buy a lot of food and bring it to my grandma's house. We would wait for more family members to come before eating together at the table, my grandma's dinner table. In the past, I felt that was a silly (愚蠢的) tradition.

However, I find it's fantastic to get together as a family now. For me, dinner is not just a meal, but a good chance to talk and play with family members. We can talk about everything after a long week of school and work. Every time I sit at the dinner table, my grandma's dinner table, I look around and find so many people who truly love me. It makes me feel so happy.

Finally, I understand the true meaning of this tradition. It's not about the dinners or activities. It's about family members, a group of people who care about each other.

All the memories (记忆) around my grandma's dinner table will last forever. Now, I'm always expecting Sunday to arrive.

Beep... beep... There went the bell. It was half past five. The robot Robbie opened his eyes. He sat in the room for a whole day. Now it was1  to do something.

Robbie looked out of the2 . It snowed heavily outside. Before Mr. Dickens3 home in the morning, he told Robbie to turn on the heat (暖气) before the family got home at seven in the evening. He did it at half past six because it4 30 minutes to make all the rooms warm.

Then Robbie did some5 at once. Mrs. Dickens didn't like to do that. After a day's hard work, she only wanted to enjoy a nice meal and have a good rest. Doing housework was easy for Robbie. He kept on working6 every room was clean and tidy.

Then, he had to cook dinner for the family. The first thing Robbie did was to get the big pot in the kitchen. Then he poured some water in it and put it on the stove (炉子). He used one of his hands to   7 the chicken and added the pieces to the water to make a good soup. Then he got some tomatoes, cabbage and carrots to make a8 salad.

At five to seven he put bread, the9 soup and the salad on the table. What a sweet smell! When he finished all the things, the family came home.

Thanks to Robbie, he helps the family save a lot of time.

A: Do you often do housework at home?

B:  I often help to do the dishes and clean the windows. How about you?

A: Well, I often help with housework, too. In fact, I like cooking best.

B: Really? I like eating beef noodles very much. Could you please teach me how to cook them? 

A:  You can come to my house next weekend and I'll teach you.

B: OK. Thank you.
