Scientists have long known that a good night's sleep is important for brain health. Recently a new study has found that daytime naps（小睡）can also be good for the brain. 

Researchers from University College London in the UK and the University of the Republic in Uruguay looked at small parts of people's DNA. There are 97 parts of DNA in humans that can tell whether a person is likely to be a daytime napper or not. They used data from about 35, 000 people in the UK between the ages of 40 and 69. They found people in the study whose DNA made them more likely to nap during the day and people whose DNA showed they didn't need to nap. 

The results showed that those who like to nap had larger brains than those who didn't. The brain naturally gets smaller with age, so this means that the brains of people who like to nap age more slowly than people who don't nap. The people who nap have brains that are bigger than those who don't. 

Dr. Victoria Garfield said the research could help scientists understand how people could preserve the health of their brains as they got older. She added, " I hope studies such as this one showing the health benefits of short naps can help to change any bad impression of daytime napping. "

The researchers didn't have information about how long the naps of people in the study lasted. Other studies, however, have suggested that naps of about 30 minutes are the most helpful for the brain. Taking a nap earlier in the day, rather than in the late afternoon, is less likely to disturb（干扰）a person's sleep at night.

There are different ways to celebrate Chinese festivals.

Beavers are amazing animals which have fat bodies and small heads. They are mostly active at night and love to live near rivers and lakes.

As nature's great engineers, beavers are good at building dams (水坝). A beaver dam is made of sticks, soil and stones. To build it, the whole beaver family usually work together. First, they find a slow-moving part of the river—this makes building easier. Then, they find a big tree and cut it down with their strong teeth. After that, they place the tree parts across the water. Finally, they use soil and stones to make everything together.

When a dam is finished, the water behind it starts to rise. The dam works like a wall. It can stop the water, helping to create a pond. In the middle of the pond, beavers can build their house, called lodge. The lodge is very special. It has a rood (十字架) to keep the beaver safe. Beavers live in their lodges with their families. They swim in the pond and can even go underwater to find food.

Besides being clever builders, beavers help nature in many ways. Their dams help provide new homes for many other animals, including fish, birds, and frogs. The ponds also help stop flooding (洪水) during heavy rain, as the water is stored behind the dam and runs more slowly.

However, beavers sometimes can cause problems for humans. Their dams can flood roads, fields, and even houses. This is especially a problem in areas where people live near rivers and farms. What's more, their habits of biting down trees can harm forests and even power lines.

To solve these problems, people have developed wonderful methods. In some places, they use special tools to keep beavers away from roads or valuable trees. Sometimes, they may move beavers to new places, where they can build their new dams without making trouble. With these smart ways, we can not only enjoy the benefits beavers bring to nature, but also protect our homes well.

According to the latest survey, China is facing an aging population. In recent years, China's birth rate (出生率) has been at a low level. In 2024, the birth rate hit a new low—only 9,540,000 babies were born in the whole year.

By 2040, China's population will be 1.35 billion, and about 30% of the people will be over 60 years old. The aging problem is getting worse and worse.

Businesses are making changes to help solve the aging problem as well—from new services to special products for the old. These changes not only create jobs for young people but also help society better understand the elderly. Most importantly people of all ages can live happily together in stronger communities.
