These days, the younger generation is enriching the Spring Festival with new ideas. 

Xiao Yao, a college student from Guangdong Province, always has lots of traditions  (follow) during the Spring Festival, such as hanging lanterns and praying(祈祷) at temples(寺院).

According to China Youth Daily, having parties and playing fireworks are  (popular) activities for the younger generation in theSpring Festival.   new ideas appear, many people still believe following traditions can make them feel  (close) to the older generation than new ways. Li Yu, a college student said that putting up couplets(对联) and watching the Spring Festival Gala with parents have never been missed. "While  (accept) new ways, I think traditional cultures tested by time and passed on through generations are what matters the most, " Li said. 

The National Day is a moment when there are flowers and national (红旗) everywhere.  (响亮的) National Anthem(国歌) and National Day  (游行) are usual  (标志)on this public holiday. People hold all  (种类) of activities to have  (乐趣). Our family often go on a trip during the holiday. 

I remember it was last October 1st. When we arrived in Shanghai, it was raining. Looking to the east— The  (天空) was becoming (灰色的), After a while, the rain stopped and the clouds cleared. To reach the top of one of the tallest buildings in the world, we climbed faster and faster in a lift  (直到) we reached the (第八十八) floor. We enjoyed a fantastic view of Pudong New Area and the centre of Shanghai. We stayed in Shanghai for more  (超过) one week and  (几乎) travelled through the whole city. 

In my  (看法), the National Day is a happy holiday to get together. During the seven days  (不上班), Chinese people usually lay a table of delicious  (菜肴) to have a get-together dinner. People enjoy themselves in this holiday. 

It is everyone's duty(责任) to help animals to stop extinction(灭绝). As a student, there are many things you can do  (you) too! Please look at the  (follow) tips. 

Send a letter to your local environmental protection centre and show how you feel   the extinction of animals. Give some advice to the officers   make the strong rules to save animals. 

Make a poster and put this poster somewhere at school or where people will  (usual) see it. It may encourage people to do something (protect) them. 

When you travel, be  (care) about what you buy. You shouldn't buy things  (make) from endangered animals. 

Watch your diet. Before eating meals, you should see if you (break) a food chain(链条). If you see somebody doing something bad for   food chain, please stop him at once. In this way, animals can be saved. 

Photos can change the way we think about things.  (通常地) speaking, the  (东西) is the  (污染)becomes worse and worse in the world. 

 (最近), a photo competition has been a hot topic. Many photos are  (呈现) to people to show their awareness(认识) of climate(气候) change. Among them, two photos are my favourites. 

One is the picture of the earth from space taken by William Anders. From the picture, people often have a  (感觉) of what the earth is like— small and beautiful. The other picture's  (主题)is"climate change". It describes a scene(场景)—— One dying bird is suffering pain in a river full of  (废物) and  (石油). It looks so  (无望的). 

Have you ever heard of"3R"? They include" (重复利用)", "reduce" and" (回收利用)". "Reuse" means"use again". "Reduce"means"use  (少的)". "Recycle" means"change things into something else to use again". 

 (对比) the world today with that in the earlier times, we can't hope for  (快速的) change. Let's take simple steps now.
