My name is Jim Green. I am a British school boy. I love my school and I study hard. On weekdays, I leave home at 6:45 and walk 20 minutes to catch a bus to school. The bus is a special one, just for students going to my school. The bus trip takes an hour because it stops to pick up other students on the way. 

When I get to school, I take my iPad from the Student Centre. Then I go to the school hall for registration (报到) at 8:30. We listen to the form teacher at the school meeting there. At about 8:50, we leave the hall and have our first lesson. Every day I have a different subject for the first lesson, but it is always Humanities. I also have lessons like Maths, Biology and PE for the rest of the day. 

All my lessons are in different rooms and places around the school. Each room has a number or a name. The numbers are very hard to remember! I have a locker (柜子) and I can put some of my things in it, so I don't have to carry them in my bag. 

Every student carries a swipe card (磁卡) at school. We swipe into the school buildings for every lesson. We can put money on our swipe cards and we don't need to carry any paper money. If we want to pay for food and drinks, we just need to use our cards. 

Every student wants to have a good school day. How can we do that? I think my school life can give you some help. 

Every day I get up early. After that I make my bed. Then I brush my teeth and wash my face. It's important to wear right clothes. If I have PE class that day, I'll wear my sports clothes and shoes. Before I go to school, I usually eat a healthy breakfast at home. My favorite food is bread and milk. 

At school, I listen to my teacher carefully (认真地). I'll ask questions if don't understand. I also like to be with friends. I make many friends at school. I always talk with them or play sports with them after class. 

After school, I have dinner first. After dinner I walk the dog and then do my homework. After I finish the homework, I take a shower. I go to bed at ten o'clock. 

My day starts at 6:30 a. m. on school days. I get up and 1 a shower before breakfast. I usually eat breakfast well. I have 2 food in the morning—three pieces of bread, some fruit and a cup of milk. I 3 school at 8:00 a. m. I study five days a 4 , from Monday to Friday. I have 5 classes a day, four in the morning and three in the afternoon. I like Chinese 6 music best of all the subjects, but I can only 7 little Chinese. My Chinese teacher always 8 me learn my Chinese. I like all my teachers. 9 are great. I eat 10 at 12 o'clock in our school. My classes 11 at 4:20 p. m. Then I do my homework. 12 weekends, I join a music club. My music teacher is 13 . She likes to tell jokes (笑话). She often makes us 14 . I can sing and play 15 drums well. The teacher likes me very much.

He can drive straight there and make right decisions along the way. The stupid driver doesn't know where they're going. He starts from the same place but drives around aimlessly. Which driver would you like to be?

People who win in the life understand the power of setting and working towards goals. They know that success isn't just lucky, it comes from hard work and clear goals. People who aren't successful often let go of their life.

Setting goals isn't as hard as it sounds. The key is to find out what's important to us. Studies show that writing down our goals makes them much nearer to reach. Writing down our goals often helps us remember them and gives us courage to work towards our goals.

People were not able to travel such a long distance in such a short time in the past. Planes were no very popular at that time because they used to be a very expensive way to travel. Nowadays, more and more people can travel by plane and they can take many other fast and comfortable vehicles.

In the past, people had to work much harder because they did not have the technology we have today. Today, most of the difficult and dangerous work is done by computers and machines.

The living conditions in the past were not as good as they are now. There were no bathrooms or running water in many houses, and many people could not buy things like refrigerators, TV sets or washing machines, Now, most families have all of these things.

Conversations have become much easier than before. In the past, we kept in touch with others by writing letters, but now we have many other ways to choose from, such as making a phone call, sending e-mails or messages and chatting online. Moreover, we can even see the people whom we are making a phone call to through mobile phones, and we can see each other while chatting online. The most surprising thing is that we can make a phone call to the astronauts and see them when they are in space. What a magical thing!

Thanks to the technology, especially the Internet, our lives have become much easier and happier than before. I'm sure they will become more wonderful in the future. Don't you think so?

Focus on listening instead of talking. Give others your full attention and really hear them out. Self-centered people often make conversations go around themselves and they are easy to get bored when the focus isn't on them. If this sounds like you, you can break that habit! Give others a chance to speak and do your best to show that you're really listening.

Put yourself in someone else's shoes. Imagining yourself in their situations helps you understand them better. If your friends are telling you about something that happened to them, you can try to ask yourself how you'd feel and what you'd need if you were them. Use fewer "I" and "me" sentences. Don't always want to talk about yourself in every conversation. You can't focus on anyone else if you're always talking about yourself. Try to actively lower the number of "I" and "me" sentences you make in daily conversations. Studies show that talking about yourself less often can make you happier and healthier, so try to remind yourself of that.
