Last Friday, our class held a special and meaningful activity—working in the field. The purpose of the activity was to give us a chance to experience farm life and improve our skills. We were excited when we heard the news.

Guided by our teachers, we took part in the activity which included three parts. First, every eight students prepared their farming tools together as a group, which played a key role in developing their ability to work with each other. Second, we dealt with the soil and managed to create an excellent environment for the growth of vegetables. Although there were challenges like the hard soil and heavy tools, these could be seen as chances to build up both our bodies and willpower (意志力). At last, students built cucumber frames (黄瓜架). It seemed easy to make them, but in fact, it was quite difficult to make them stand upright.

Although it could be tiring, students enjoyed the joy of farming. "There couldn't be a better chance to enjoy the beauty of farming, which enhanced (增强) my responsibility to value the fruit of others' labor and improved my skills," said Liu Li, one of my classmates. More amazingly, great influences were seen when it comes to students' daily life. "He began to make sure the zero-waste dinner, and was into planting in his bedroom," said a student's mother when talking about her son's progress.

One day, our English teacher Mr. White came into the classroom with a book in his hand. He started his lesson with a question, "Who can describe what stress is like?" No one answered. Then he raised the book and asked, "How heavy is the book?"

We all want to do things well. For example, as students, all of us want to have a good performance in studies and get good grades. However, growing up also includes (包含) accepting when things go wrong.

Don't stress too much about everything going perfectly. Remember you're a common man. Humans make mistakes. Getting too hung up on whether things go as planned can put a lot of pressure on you and lead to worry. That's why it's good to leave some room for mistakes and imperfections.
