1、Sometimes, families can be hard. They argue a lot. Things get said. People get upset. Sometimes they stop talking. Our family has had lots of ups and downs. I'd say arguments often happen in our family, too.

I have an older brother and an older sister. I'm the baby boy in the family. We grew up in quite a small house and often didn't have a lot of money. My mum and dad argued, pretty much all the time, just about anything. My brother and sister argued. And I used to argue too.

The key is to try and understand. Of course, sometimes, arguments do need to happen. If something is wrong, it needs to be solved and sometimes, we get angry about it. But as long as we can reflect and look at things with an attitude (态度) of care and responsibility, we can weather the storm and help each other out.

2、Traditional Opera

As a kid, I didn't like Peking Opera at all. The actors' strange ways of speaking and singing, along with their old-fashioned clothes, made me feel that Peking Opera was really uninteresting. I couldn't enjoy its beauty.

But things changed last year. I watched a TV series (剧集) and the story was set in ancient times. There was a moment when an actress performed a song in the style of Peking Opera. It was amazing! Although the TV series itself was wonderful, it was the Peking Opera element (因素) that really caught my attention. That short moment made me see Peking Opera in a whole new way. I started to realize how cool this traditional form could be.

There are also some modern words in the TV series, showing how traditional and modern cultures can mix very well. This is a good example of how pop culture helps spread Chinese culture. Pop culture has played an important role in spreading Chinese culture. It includes online dramas, online novels and online games. It's like a bridge connecting young people to the traditional culture. For example, the Peking Opera part in the TV series makes me understand that our traditions are not boring and can be really exciting.

I think we should encourage more such combinations (结合) to let more people, especially the young, know about and love Chinese culture.

3、During their busy lives, people do not pay much attention to the expiry dates (有效期) on the food in their fridges. As a result, a lot of food is forgotten about and wasted. However, according to a recent research, being aware of (意识到) what you throw away can help you waste less.

The researchers measured (计量) food waste from 154 families across the UK. Half of these families in the research were asked to list the fruits and vegetables they had bought and their expiry dates. The families stuck the list on the fridge door and received a text message every day telling them to check it. The other half did not have to make a list and did not receive text messages. Over a six-week period, all the families were asked to measure their food waste at the end of each week.

The researchers were surprised to find that making lists and getting texts made little difference to how much food was wasted. However, each family in the research wasted less food—about 0.1 kilo a week.

The researchers carried on the research for six months, and found that all the families continued to waste less food. This shows that just measuring food waste encourages people to pay closer attention to it and throw less away.

It plays the role of health care and treatment by regulating (调节) the balance of people's bodies. It began in China at least 2,500 years ago and later spread to other countries.
