Sweat, which is a kind of salty water on the surface of our bodies,is more than just a sign that we're hot or nervous. It's a key part of how our bodies function.Sweat plays an important role in keeping our bodies balanced.Let's learn about the science of our bodies.
When you're playing soccer under the sun, your body heats up.To cool down, your body's"air Sweat conditioner"—your sweat glands(汗腺)kicks in!This kind of sweat, called thermal sweat (温热性出汗),starts pouring out to lower your body temperature.Have you ever noticed your hands getting sweaty before a big test or speech? That's stress sweat!Unlike thermal sweat, which covers your whole body, stress sweat often shows up in certain places like your hands and feet. It's your body's way of saying,"Hey,I''m a bit nervous!"While stress sweat on your hands might feel embarrassing,it's actually your body's natural response(回应)to pressure.
What's in sweat?Sweat is mostly water, about 99%.It also contains salt, sugar, and other small things. These help keep your skin healthy. But too much sweating without drinking enough water can make you feel unbalanced or tired!
So,sweat isn't all bad—it's your body's smart way to stay cool and healthy. So next time you feel sweat running down your back,be thankful to your wonderful body for working hard to keep you comfortable.
There are so many other amazing facts waiting for us to discover.Let's keep exploring these wonderful things about our bodies.

I have always wanted to be a volunteer in my community. Last month, my dream finally .
I joined the community volunteer team to help the elderly people who live alone. At first, I was a little nervous. I was afraid that they would feel and didn't want to talk with me. But when I visited the first old lady, Mrs. Li, she welcomed me warmly. She told me stories about her life when she was young, and I listened to her carefully. We became friends soon.
Every weekend, I go to visit them. I help them clean the house, buy vegetables, and teach them how to use smart phones. They are always very happy to see me. Last week, we held a party for the elderly, and many of them sang and danced. They said they felt very warm our care.

When I was in Grade 8, I was very afraid to speak English in class. I was always worried that I would make mistakes and my classmates would laugh at me. So I always kept silent in English class, even when I knew the answer.
One day, our English teacher Ms. Li asked us to give a speech in front of the class. The topic was "My Dream". I was so nervous that I didn't sleep well the night before. I wrote the speech again and again, and practiced it over 100 times. I even recorded my voice to make sure my pronunciation was correct.

I joined the school English club, and took part in many English speaking competitions. I even won the first prize in the city's middle school English speech competition last year.
