Confucianism (儒家思想) has been followed by Chinese people for more than two thousand years.

To help people understand how to behave towards others, Confucianism teaches the Five Constants (五常) .These are ren, yi, li, zhì and xin. They are general virtues (美德) aroundworld. The most important two are ren and li.

Ren is the feeling of care and love we should have for(other). Confucius explained ren could best(understand) as loving others. He is famous for teaching people "What you do not want done to(you), do not do to others." It is quite similar to what is known in the West as the Golden Rule (treat others as you wish to be treated).

The meaning of ren is easy to understand,li is a little harder to express. It can be thought of as the duty or even respect.(general), li is the way we should connect with people in our everyday life. In Confucian writings, discussions about li include the proper way(drink) tea and how to remember ancestors. While ren is mostly about our opinions and feelings, li is about how we express our opinions and feelings towards others and towards the world around us.

Perhaps the(famous) Confucian virtue is xiao. This is the duty children have to their parents. Xiao means loving, respecting, obeying and taking caretheir parents in their old age. In Confucianism, xiao is important for a harmonious (和谐的) society.(with) it, the whole world would fall into a mess.

The Changing Face of Dongmen Street in Ningyuan

Dongmen Street, outside the old east gate of Ningyuan, Yongzhou, has a long history of hundreds of years. Since the county got its name in 965 AD, it has been a busy1 place for selling salt and cloth along the Lingjiang River2 . But as time passed, problems came: old buildings like Jiuyi Temple broke down, some old houses became unsafe, and floods often hit the area3 . 

In recent years, the local government started a renewal project. Workers cleaned the river bank, fixed broken walls, and even kept the old stone plates on the street to4 its original look. Today, the street has changed a lot for the better. Workers followed the rule of "repairing like the old"—they kept about 70% of the original building style. Jiuyi Temple stands again, and workers5 the old 1950s bus station into a cultural show hall.

Now the street has many kinds of shops: tea houses serve both traditional big-bowl tea and popular milk tea, workshops for local handcrafts show how to make pottery, and cultural shops sell fridge magnets with local scenery6 . This change brings many good things. First, it makes the street safer and improves its7 to fight floods. Second, it brings local culture back—visitors and local people can now get close to Ningyuan's history and traditions8 joining pottery classes or listening to folk stories. Third, the new shops and more tourists help the local economy, and they9 more jobs for people living there. Most importantly, the street has become a place where old memories stay and new happiness grows10 . 

There are two important teachers in this world. One is the nature.because man learned a lot from nature, like lighting the fire and growing rice. It also provides man with many necessary things for life, such as water, food and so on.

Hu, 31, is a pioneer in nature education. He set up an organization five years ago. It offers nature-based programs to children under 12 years old, including many outdoor activities, such as planting trees and watching birds. "And don't forget we are all part of nature," Hu said. The purpose of nature education is to teach people how to understand, respect and get on well with nature.

The experiences people learned from nature were written down in the form of books. This was a step forward because man could record their experiences and thoughts. Su Mingjuan, a girl from a poor family in a small village, finished college and became a bank clerk. She volunteers to encourage people to read more. She said, "Without reading books, I can't have such a wonderful life." Besides Su, millions of people learn from books and have better lives. Some people ever said, "A book is like a garden carried in a pocket."

Yang Zhenning, one of the most influential physicists of the 20th century, passed away on October 18,2025, in Beijing at the age of 103. Born in Hefei, Anhui Province in1922, he grew up in a scholarly family and developed a strong interest in science during his early years. He studied at Southwest Associated University, a famous institution that nurtured many talents in difficult times, and later pursued further education at the University of Chicago in the United States.

In 1957, Yang and his colleague Li Zhengdao made history by winning the Nobel Prize in Physics. They received this honor for their groundbreaking work on the "parity non-conservation" theory in weak nuclear interactions-a discovery that changed how scientists understand the basic laws of the universe.Beyond this, Yang's "Yang-Mills Gauge Theory" is widely regarded as a cornerstone of modern physics, standing alongside Einstein's theory of relativity in its importance.

Though he lived abroad for decades, Yang never forgot his homeland. In 1971, he became the first Chinese scholar to visit New China after a long period of separation, helping to rebuild academic links between China and the US. He also advised the Chinese government on strengthening basic science research and funded nearly100 Chinese students to study in the US. In 1999, he returned to work at Tsinghua University,devoting his later years to training young scientists and promoting the development of physics in China.

Yang ' s life was a mix of scientific curiosity and deep love for his country. His famous motto,"Be honest rather than clever," continues to encourage young people to pursue truth in science and life.

Yongzhou and Changsha Tie 1-1 in HNFL Match

On the evening of October 26, 2025, an exciting football game was held. It was the 7th round of the 2025 Hunan Football League (HNFL, also called "Xiangchao"). Yongzhou Team played at home against Changsha Team, and they finally tied 1-1. The Yongzhou Stadium was full of 15,758 fans, making the atmosphere lively. 

The game started at 8:15 pm. Changsha tried to control the ball, but Yongzhou wasn't scared—they played actively with home fans' support. In the 9th minute, a Yongzhou player took a long shot. Changsha's goalkeeper failed to hold the ball, and Yongzhou's Player No. 47 Lin Hao ran over to score! This was the first goal Changsha let in since the league began, showing Yongzhou's "never give up" spirit. Changsha tried hard to score back but couldn't, so Yongzhou led 1-0 at halftime.

In the second half, Changsha sent more attacking players to score. But Yongzhou's defense was strong—their goalkeeper made many great saves, showing how much he cared about the team. In the 79th minute, Changsha's substitute Player No. 66 Tan Xiang used his head to score, making the score 1-1. Later, Changsha's long shot hit the goal's crossbar, but they still couldn't take the lead. Even in the 11 minutes of extra time, both teams kept playing hard, showing football's spirit of perseverance. 

After the game, Yongzhou's local leaders visited and encouraged the team. A famous coach once said, "Football is like life—it needs perseverance, hard work and dedication." This 1-1 draw wasn't just a score: Yongzhou stayed strong against a better team, and Changsha never gave up. It's a great example of why people love football—for its spirit of passion, teamwork and not giving up. This game made the HNFL more exciting.

Requirements for Primary and Middle School Students' Lunch Break Desks and Chairs(《中小学生午休课桌椅通用技术要求》).It will take effect on February 1st,2026.
