Emily was always a hard-working girl. However, homework was her weak point. She found it difficult to stay focused (注意力集中于) and often put off doing her homework until the last minute. But Emily had a dream: to be a successful writer.
One day, her English teacher asked them to write an article about the importance of character development in novels. Emily felt unhappy. She loved reading novels, but writing articles always seemed like a bad dream.
As soon as Emily got home, her mother saw her unhappy face and talked with her patiently. So she decided to follow her mother's advice and deal with her homework differently this time. Instead of fearing the task, Emily chose a novel that she really enjoyed. As she lost herself in the story, she noticed how the characters developed over time and how important their growth was to the whole story. She also realized that the characters' development was what made the novel so interesting and enjoyable. Then Emily began to sit down to write her article.
As she wrote, Emily realized that homework wasn't just about pleasing her teacher or getting good grades. It was about personal growth and discovery. And it was about finding her own voice and expressing her ideas and opinions. After she finished the article, she felt very happy.
From then on, Emily did her homework carefully and happily. She saw it as a chance to learn more about herself and the world around her.

Why Should We Learn Body Language?
In English classes, we spend lots of time learning grammar and new words. We work hard to improve our reading and listening skills. In fact, body language is very important.
As the old saying goes, "Actions speak louder than words." For example, we can just shake our heads when we want to say "No".
Body language can help us stress (强调) what we are saying. It can help us show our true feelings. Moreover, body language can help us find out if someone is lying. Body language is important in our personal lives. When you are leaning forward (前倾) in a conversation, it means you are interested in the topic. Listening without any expression (表情) means you are not interested in what your friends are saying.
The results of the study shows more than 70% of our messages are sent through body language. Sometimes, body language is more accurate (精准的) than the words we use, so it is very important for us to learn body language.
