When we talk about art, we often think of drawings on paper. However, making things with your hands is also a wonderful art form. Pottery is one of the oldest arts in history. It involves making pots, dishes, and other objects out of clay.

To be a good  (sculpt), you need strong hands and a clear mind. Working with clay is different from drawing. It  (require) not just skill but  (strong). First, you place a piece of wet clay in the correct position on a wheel. As the wheel turns, you use your fingers to shape the mud into a bowl or a vase. Sometimes, special  (instrument) are used to add fine details to the surface.

Sugar painting is nice to look at and tastes delicious too. People, especially kids, love its bright color and sweet taste. So next time when you see a sugar painting stall, why not try making one with the artist?

Chinese lacquer fans (漆扇) have a very long history. The artist draws pictures on the fans with special paint. And they often tell old Chinese stories. . Many young people think they are both beautiful and interesting.

These fans are usually made of bamboo or wood. People paint pretty pictures on them, like mountains, flowers, birds, and sometimes people.  Even today, some skilled workers still make fans in the old ways to keep this traditional art.

Now, many young people have started to love making lacquer fans.  The ways are easy: first, they choose colors, then drop the lacquer in water, turn it, put the fan in the water, and finally take it out. As a result, you can get a special fan every time.

Making lacquer fans is not only fun but also meaningful.  This old art form is becoming new again in the hands of young Chinese.
