There is a special porcelain item（瓷 器 制 品）in Chaozhou, Guangdong Province. It has up to 10, 000 hollows（镂空）and beautiful clay flowers. This is Tonghua porcelain. It became a national intangible cultural heritage in 2008. It takes around 20 steps and 45 days to turn a design on paper into a finished porcelain item. And designing is not easy. If a hollow is too large, it can crack(裂开) during firing. When making a flower, the maker also has to be quick, or the clay will become too dry. 

Ye Hao is a 29-year-old inheritor（传承人）of Tonghua porcelain. His family are good at making porcelain. As there are fewer people in Chaozhou with Tonghua skills, he thinks it is important to learn the art. He started his study in high school. 

Ye always gets ideas from life. He once had a design in the shape of a fan in his work. He got the idea from the feathers of a peacock he saw at a zoo. Ye is also trying to be creative with the art. He once used the main characters from animations（动 画 片）in his design of six Tonghua porcelain vases. Ye said he would keep trying to show the art to more people with fresh ideas. 

Do you like to sit together with your family and drink tea after meals? For many years, tea has been a popular drink in China. In old stories, Shennong (one) found tea. He was heating some water under a tree, and then a tea leaf fell into his pot and became tea. 

On November 29th, 2022, the ways of making traditional Chinese tea and the social practices that go with them entered the UN intangible cultural heritage list（非 物质文化遗产名录）. Now it catches the (world) eye. Since a long time ago, Chinese people have been planting, picking, making and drinking tea. 

Key Skills in Making Tea

◆ Use high heat to stop enzyme reactions（酶反应）of wet leaves. 

◆ Put a group of tea leaves together (raise) the temperature（温 度） and moisture（湿度）levels. 

◆ Let fresh leaves rest to lose moisture and make enzyme reactions happen faster to get ready.

However, the old way is now popular among Chinese young people again. The topic of "weiluzhucha" has over 40, 000 posts on a short-video platform. It (attract) more fans in the future. People can sit around a stove （炉子）as they boil tea on it. It's very happy for them to drink hot tea and chat with each other. In this way, people may enjoy a slower life and feel more relaxed. What  pleasant life!

Learn more about your neighbours

Do they have a new baby? If they do, they are surely trying to make the baby stop crying.  You should try your best to know more about their problem before you talk to them. 

Find the right time to talk to your neighbours

You can talk to your neighbours when they are not making noise or busy. Don't knock on their door if the problem happens in the middle of the night or if you are angry. 

For example, at the weekend when you are both free, see your neighbours with a plate of homemade cookies and talk friendly to them. 

Write them a note

If you don't know your neighbours at all, talking to your neighbours face to face may not help with the problem. Then leave them a note on their door. 

Find others to help you

If talking to your neighbours doesn't work, or if you don't want to talk to them, you may need to go to others for help.  But before you go to them, you need to make sure that your neighbours really make loud noise. 

A horse fair is an amazing place. There is always a lot to see. There are young horses from the country, little Welsh ponies, like Merrylegs, and many beautiful horses too. But there were also a lot of poor, thin horses, worn out from hard work. I was very sad to see them. 

At the horse fair there was a man with a gentle voice and kind grey eyes. He offered twenty-three pounds for me, but they refused, and he walked away. Then a man with a very loud voice came. I was afraid he was going to buy me, but he walked off. Then the grey-eyed man came back again and said, "I will give twenty four for him. "

②Yu Lili, from Weihai, Shandong, likes Huabobo very much. When she was a child, her grandmother taught her how to make Huabobo. So she is good at making it. She has a factory in her village. There are about 80 workers in her factory. They can make over 500 kinds of Huabobo. Yu and her workers spend a lot of time on it, but she is happy because a lot of young people show love to her Huabobo. 

③Huabobo is not only a kind of food but also an art. Huabobo comes in different colours and shapes, like animals, flowers and fruit. It looks good and it's delicious. "We' re trying to make more kinds, " Yu said. 

④For people in Shandong, Huabobo is a symbol of the Chinese New Year. It shows good luck and people's wishes for a good life. That's why it becomes popular with more and more people in Shandong.
