Wuhan Yellow Crane Tower Study Tour Notice

Dear students,

We are going to have a study tour to the Yellow Crane Tower, one of the most famous landmarks of Wuhan, on Friday, April 18th. Here is the information you need to know.

Schedule:

• 7:30 a.m. Meet at the school gate and take the school bus to the Yellow Crane Tower.

• 9:00 a.m. Visit the tower with a guide, learn about its 1800-year history and classic poems about it.

• 11:30 a.m. Have a picnic in the nearby Shouyi Park.

• 1:30 p.m. Take part in the calligraphy and poem writing experience activity.

• 3:30 p.m. Take the school bus back to school.

Tips:

1. Please wear comfortable clothes and shoes, as we will walk a lot.

2. You can bring a water bottle, a notebook and a pen.

3. Please don't bring too much money or expensive things.

4. You must follow the teachers' and the guide's rules, and don't run around alone.

Last month, I took part in the volunteer activity for the Wuhan Marathon. I was so1 when I got the chance, because I had always wanted to do something for this big event in my hometown.

On the day of the marathon, I got up very early2 the sun was just rising. I put on my volunteer uniform and went to the assigned place. My job was to 3 water and snacks to the runners.

Jilin University has started a free winter camp.In total，more than 100 students have joined in the camp.This is their（ one） time to skate there.The students can learn winter sports in a fun way.For every student，it is an（ usual） experience. 

During the camp，students tried ice skating and skiing.They also made snowmen and ice art.The camp gave them valuable（ chance） to enjoy winter.Students took part in many fun activities， they knew more about ice and snow.The teacherswere very kind helped them a lot. 

So far，many parents have sent thank-you letters to the organizers.Parents are proudtheir children's performances.The teachers encourage student（ try） their best and enjoy outdoor activities.Students havegood time and also build strong connections with winter sports.They will always keep this sweet memory. 

The camp is now（ wide） known across the city.The camp（ hold） next year to help students enjoy winter. 

The wind may blow and the snow may fall.But once a student finds joy on ice，it will never be cold again in winter.

The couple，Gao Wandong and Chen Jing，have a lifelong task.Over the years，they have taken nearly 100，000 photos of the Great Wall and collected many historical objects.In 2023，they finally built a small museum to share their collections with the whole world.

The museum is in Yanchi，Ningxia.The Great Wall runs for 259 kilometers across deserts and hills there.The couple built the museum with borrowed money and a strong will.Inside the museum，visitors can not only see photos of the Great Wall but also admire old art pieces，and local history books that tell the Great Wall's past stories.

Gao Wandong grew up near the Great Wall.As a child，he often hid in its tall watchtowers during sudden sandstorms.Years later，he realized these relics（遗迹） were gradually gone because of the natural forces and human activities.With the help of his wife，Gao began to study and record the Great Wall.Gao drove and took notes，while Chen took photos.What started as a hobby soon became a serious effort to spread the culture of the Great Wall.The couple wrote a book with 600 photos to describe the Great Wall's beauty and history.

The museum has been open to the public for six years.Now it receives thousands of visitors every year，including researchers，students and the Great Wall lovers.The couple also hold photo fairs and educational activities in the museum.

"In recent years，Yanchi has stepped up protection，and cases of harm have largely disappeared，"Gao says.
