Televisions are like books or films. A child can learn bad things and good things from them. Some programs help children to understand the news, and others show people and places from other (country) or other times in history. Because television, a child does not have to go to the zoo to see animals or to the ocean to see a ship. Boys and girls can see a play, a concert or a game at home.

Television brings many places and events into our homes. Some programs show crimes and other things that are bad for children. What's more, every child (like) watching TV. Some even watch television eight hours or more on Saturday. So parents sometimes help them to find other interesting things . Doing sports such as (play) basketball, football and swimming (be) good for both body and mind. If you are interested in history, you can go to see movies about important historical events. They will help you know (anything) about history. When you are too tired to study, just sit on the sofa alone and enjoy the music to relax (you). It will help you study better.

I will be ten years old on Friday, 22nd July. To celebrate my birthday, I will invite several friends and I hope that all of you will be able to come to the party on that day.

There will be two parts in my party. The first part will be at the swimming pool near our school. Please bring your swimsuit (游泳衣) and a change of clothes. We have planned some pool games. My parents will be at the pool to protect the swimmers. The pool party will be from 2 to 3 p.m.

The second part of the party will be at my house. A bus will take us all from the pool to my house. A singer is coming to my house. He will sing popular songs for us. I am sure you will enjoy them. The home party may last till 5 p.m.Please let me know by Friday, 15th July, whether you will come to my party, so that I will know how much food to prepare.

The UK government (政府) makes many rules and asks us to celebrate Halloween earlier in the month. To stay safe (安全的), we have to keep social distancing and follow the rule of six. According to this rule, we can't be outside in a group of more than six people.

People come up with new ways to have fun, such as having a treasure hunt (寻宝游戏) at home, watching a scary movie, dressing up your house with spooky (恐怖的) decorations or giving some sweets to your neighbor.

As for me, my parents and I buy lots of sweets and hang up (悬挂) some decorations to get into the festive mood (节日气氛). I also have an online party over video call with my friends. Even with so many rules, it is still a special day!

The English people are the world's biggest fans of fast food, while the French are the least interested in quick meals, according to a survey (调查) done last year.

The survey of thirteen countries shows 45% of the English people say they can't give up fast food because it's delicious. And 44% of Americans and 37% of Canadians say the same.

Hello, I'm Lin Tao. This is my school. It's a big and beautiful school. There is a big sports field. The gym is next to the sports field. In front of the gym, there are science labs. Behind the gym, there is a library. So we can see the gym is between the science labs and the library. In the library, there are many books. Look! This is our teaching building, and there are 48 classrooms in it. In my class, there are 56 students. On the right of the teaching building, there is a dining hall, and we often have lunch there. Teachers' offices are in front of our teaching building.

Each year, billions of pounds of rubbish end up in the oceans. Sometimes people throw away water bottles or other plastics. They(not recycle) their rubbish. (actual), wind and rain can move rubbish from land to sea. Plastic takes a very long time to break down. It can (remain) in the oceans for hundreds of years. Plastic pieces are very (danger)to sea animals. One group, Washed Ashore, came up a new idea to tell people about the problems in the oceans. First, they take the rubbish from a beach. Then, they clean and sort it. (final), they work with the plastic pieces to make huge works of art that are mostly of sea creatures(生物). Washed Ashore has created more than seventy of these artworks (success). Some of them are now travelling in a show all over  world. Each piece shows the effects of trash. In one show, people learn       plastic fools fish and other sea animals. They think the plastic is food, so they eat it and get very sick or even die. This would not happen. people used less plastic and didn't litter. It's really time for human beings to take action!
