My Family

Hi, everyone. Now let me introduce my family.

One day, Lucy's grandma breaks (摔断) her leg. So she has to sit in a chair all day.

Steve is a boy from London, the UK. He's 14 years old. Now he is in Shenzhen with his mum and dad. Steve is in Gezhi Middle School in Shenzhen. He's in Class Three, Grade Eight.

Steve has a happy family. His dad, Mr. White, is 37 years old. Mr. White is a businessman. He is very busy every day. He often goes to other countries for business and he has many friends in China, Japan and England. His mum, Mrs. White, is 35 years old. Mrs. White is an English teacher in a middle school. But she and Steve are not in the same school. She teaches very well and many students like her.

Steve and his mother often go to the park and play basketball. It is their favourite sport. Many people come here to enjoy themselves.

Steve likes China very much. He says China is a great country. But he can only speak a little Chinese. He is studying it now. His friends help him a lot.

A family tree is a great way to introduce your family history and lineage (宗系). It shows the relationships (关系) between family members and can help you understand where you come from.

Look. Here is my family tree and there are 14 people in it. They are my grandparents, parents, siblings, aunts, uncles, and cousins. It is really a big family, but each person has their own unique (独特的) place in the family.

For example, my grandfather is a farmer and has six children, including (包括) my mother. My grandmother on my father's side is a nurse and has four children. My parents are both doctors and have two children, my sister and me. My aunt on my mother's side is a teacher and has two children, my cousins. My uncle on my father's side is a businessman (商人) and has three children, my other cousins. Everyone in my family has their own job and family, but we all come together to celebrate holidays and special days.

What does family mean to us? In fact, our family is important because it can give us both love and help in life. So everyone should know the true meaning of the family.
