On January 15, 2026, China Daily reported that a Shenzhen youth volunteer team has held  charitable(慈善的) teaching program titled"Bringing Technology toSchool".order to provide immersive(沉浸的) experiences, they have visited rural schools in Guangdong and Hunan.(it) members have brought tech devices like drones(无人机) and cameras.

The program allows students(operate) the equipment, turning knowledge into practical skills. The voluntary activity is designed not only to educate but also to raise the students'(spirit). The volunteers reported seeing many(joy)faces in the classrooms. Zhang Hua, a volunteer, shared, "We got the school's (permit) to conduct these special classes. It's surprising to see how(quick) the students can learn. The organizers(arrange) activities to develop the children's interest in science for 2 months.

In a street garden in Luohu District, Shenzhen, a group of volunteers in red vests were busy cleaning up in early January 2026. Among them were many middle school students,parents, and community workers.

Li Hua, a student from a middle school, is one of the young volunteers. He joined this community cleaning activity on January 10th.

"How much shall I give you?" she asked.

"Nothing," I said.

"You have to make a living," she answered."Oh, there are other passengers," I answered.Almost without thinking, I bent and gave her a hug. She held onto me tightly and said,"You gave an old woman a little moment of happiness."

When Yang Fan was taking a walk around the Yuliang Island, she saw a black swan(天鹅) in the grass. Yang Fan knew that swans could be fierce(凶猛的). But as she got close to this one, it didn't move.

She was sure that the swan needed help. So Yang covered the bird's head with her jacket to keep it calm, picked it up carefully, and held it in her arms. She decided to send it to theAnimal Care Center, but the center was across the Han River, far from the park. She didn't know how to carry the swan there. Luckily, some strangers driving by gave her and the swan a lift to a nearby bus stop.

On the bus, no one seemed surprised by"the unusual passenger". Instead, they were worried. Someone helped Yang Fan call the center on the way. And Li Tao, an animal-care manager, picked her up at the bus stop and drove them to the center. There, the animal doctors found that the swan was poisoned, which was caused by eating something used to kill mice. The swan was well looked after at the center. She even made a friend——a little dog.Luckily, thanks to people's love and care, she was cured(治愈) two months later.

"It's a moving story. Yang Fan travelled about two hours and it was really a long way."says Li Tao."And all the strangers wanted to give her and the swan a hand." He adds,"I am happy to see that more and more people have realized the importance of protecting wildlife since Xiangyang began to build the civilized(文明) city."

Velma, a US high school student, is busy with her studies every day. But after school,she puts down her books and goes off to 1 . She takes care of cats, helps teachers at school and cleans up the beach. Why? Because students in US public schools are 2 to do at least 20 hours of community service in order to graduate.

What's more, proper (express) also matters. Be clear about what you want to say. Use language that is(true) easy for others to understand.

Body language also plays important role. Maintain eye contact to show your interest. A warm smile can make the conversation more pleasant. People can stand or sit up straighta good posture shows proper behaviour.

Moreover, be empathetic(有同感的). Try to put(you) in other persons'shoes. Understand their feelings and perspectives(视角). It is also important(hold) your head up and smile friendly. This will help you respond appropriately (适当地).

There are some special pictures online that can help relax your eyes. You may download such pictures to your computer or smart phone. When there is nothing far away you can look at to relax your eyes, you can use one of these pictures. A picture with something like a tunnel(隧道) in it is quite popular. Try to look as far into the tunnel as you can for 30 seconds.Do you feel better?

Breaks

The 20-20-20 rule: take a break from the screen every 20 minutes for 20 seconds and look at something 20 feet (about 6 meters) away.

Eye Exercises

Step 1. Sit comfortably, imagine there is a clock in front of you and look straight ahead to 12 o' clock. Pause(停顿) for a second, and then lower your eyes to 6o' clock. Pause again,and then repeat this step 10 times. Complete the exercise by cupping your hands over your eyes for a few seconds, letting them rest in the darkness.

Step 2. Look at something on the right. Keep your eyes on it and slowly turn your head to the left as far as possible. Then do the same thing on the left. Repeat the exercise a couple of times.

Step 3. Hold your finger in front of your nose and keep looking at it. Slowly move the finger closer to your nose as close as you can without losing focus(焦点). Then look outside the window as far as possible. Repeat this several times.

The US

People in the US often shake hands with people they have just met. How the handshake began is uncertain, but most would agree that it is quite a good way to greet each other. In the past, the shaking of the right hand showed that the person was not carrying anything dangerous, so it used to be seen as a good way to build trust.

But today, things are different. According to China Daily, many American people now greet each other with their elbows(肘部). With only a little touch, the elbow greeting makes the hands free, which is good news.

France

France is famous for its special greeting ways. They touch others' faces and make a kissing sound. For them, it tells others,"We trust and care about each other." However, as the virus(病毒) has spread all over the world, this greeting is now banned in the country.Newspapers are filled with advice on how to replace it with other greetings.

India

Most people in India perform a namaskar(合十礼) as a greeting. People place their hands together with a bow(鞠躬). But some young people's greeting habits have changed because of their experiences of studying abroad. They like to offer a handshake and a kiss today. In March, the Prime Minister called on his people to use use the namaskar as a safe greeting.

Why do you feel encouraged when your teacher smiles at you? How do you know your mother is 1 when she frowns (皱眉)? In both cases, the person is telling us something not with 2 , but with facial expressions.

Facial expressions are one or more movements on a person's 3 , such as frowning,raising one's eyebrows (眉毛), or moving the nose and lips. They 4 people's feelings.

During our school's recent"Cultural Innovation(创新) Week", shadow puppet plays attracted many students. We had a chance to watch a performance last week. Some puppets are cut the shape of modern cartoon characters such as Boonie Bears.During the most thrilling moments, the entire audience (hold) their breath,charmed by the moving shadows.

Most children love movies because they are fun. But can movies be more than just fun?

The research team interviewed children between ages 4 and 15 after they watched InsideOut(《头脑特工队》). This story takes place mostly in the head of an 11-year-old girl, where her feelings Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear and Disgust are personified as different characters.They help the girl after her family move house.

It helps improve their social skills. The children learn to understand how others feel in real life through learning about the characters' feelings.  Children enjoy seeing scenes of kindness, love, and bravery in the film. When Bing Bong sacrifices(牺牲) himself to helpJoy, children are moved deeply. Also, it encourages children never to give up. Joy' s perseverance (毅力) encourages them to keep trying in their own life. Moreover, children can learn important lessons about life from Inside Out.  When children follow Joy' s journey, they also come to realize that. Then Joy works with Sadness and the other feelings.Teamwork of all feelings is needed to live a full life.

Inside Out is such a great film to watch, as well as other films. Choose one, and you can turn screen time into a chance to have an amazing experience.

A highly expected video game based on an ancient Chinese classic came out worldwide on Tuesday, August 20th,2024. It has excited games around the world.

The game, Black Myth: Wukong, is an action role-playing game created by GameScience. It is inspired by Chinese mythology (神话) and the 16th-century novel Journey to the West, one of China's four great classic novels.  ▲   It allows players to experience a new world of Chinese imagination and historical scenery. IGN China, a top review website,gave the game its highest score—8 points.

What draws both Chinese and foreign players the most is the design of the game's scenes and characters. Black Myth: Wukong creates an amazing landscape with Chinese scenery, including famous mountains, old roads, pavilions among mountains and water,deserts and ancient temples, which most come from the places like Shanxi, Chongqing andXiangyang. They used these creations and historical relics(遗迹) in every part of the game.

The different monsters, gods, and Buddhas which appear in the game all come from The Classic of Mountains and Seas, a major source of Chinese mythology. Also, the game includes traditional Chinese instruments like the guzheng, bowls, wooden clappers and gongs.Much of the music is made by using Chinese-style musical structures.

While playing the game, players feel like they are fully lost in a mysterious eastern world.

In the summer of 2025, a Chinese animated film surprised everyone. Its name was The Little Monster of Langlang Mountain(《浪浪山小妖怪》). It didn't have famous superheroes or magical fights. Instead, it told a simple, warm story about a young, ordinary monster living in a small mountain. This film became a big hit and showed a brave new direction forChinese cartoons.

For a long time, many Chinese animations tried to look like Hollywood which often had powerful gods or historic heroes. But The Little Monster of Langlang Mountain was different because its main character isn't a hero. He is just a little monster doing a boring job in the mountain. He worries about his work, his family, and his small dreams. This made millions of young people see themselves in him.

The film's art style is also new. It doesn't use very shiny 3D effects. It uses a softer,watercolor-like style that makes you think of traditional Chinese paintings. The music mixes modern sounds with old Chinese instruments, connecting listeners to past memories and creating a feeling that is both fresh and nostalgic.

Why did this simple story win so many hearts? One movie critic(评论者) wrote,"Its power doesn't come from a big world, but from true feelings we all know." The little monster's story is about everyday life—— friendship, small victories, and gentle growth. In2025, when people's lives are fast and busy, this film offered a quiet moment of comfort and warmth.

The success of this film tells us that Chinese animation is growing up and finding its own voice. The best stories are sometimes not about changing the world, but about understanding the small, real world around us. And that is a truly exciting new beginning.

Cartoon films have very few limits(限制). If you can draw something, then you can make it 1 on the cinema screen. The use of new ideas and modern computer programs means that cartoons are becoming exciting again for people of 2 ages.
