Joining the school speech club last year taught me to express myself confidently . As a silent girl, I spoke in class in the past. Now, friends describe me as and outgoing than before. I believe this change results from learning to stress properly.

It's not easy to make some changes to yourself. It requires much work. Here are some suggestions for you. 

Set up clear goals. According to your own actual situation, think about what you are looking forward to or dreaming of doing and make plans. Realizing something you want to achieve may help you understand what to do next. Then you will be able to make your wishes come true. 

Develop good habits.Try to stay away from some bad habits. For example, if you want to cut down your time spent on social media, you can set time limits for using social media and slowly increase your focus on more meaningful activities. 

Gain new knowledge.You're never too late to study. If you want to change yourself, it's necessary to keep up with the development of the world. 

Stay close to positive people. Spend more time with people full of active and healthy ideas to encourage your growth and change. Avoid those who make you upset. 

Be willing to take risks and try new things. This might allow you to experience new challenges and chances for growth. For example, if you are shy, try speaking up at a meeting or joining in a social event where you don't know many people.

As technology keeps improving, our lives will be different from what they used to be like. In the future, we'll have cooler and greener ways to travel. For example, solar cars and electric cars will become more popular. Driverless vehicles (车辆) will also be common, making trips safer and easier. 

At work, artificial intelligence (AI) will help us do many things quickly. In factories, robots will do their jobs with high precision (精确性). We'll study and communicate online, and everything will be connected through the Internet. Students might stay at home and learn online instead of going to school every day. They can watch interesting video lessons and talk with teachers and classmates in virtual (虚拟的) classrooms.

However, there might be some problems. With technology, we might become too lazy and spend much time on smart devices. Then many of us could even have problems with our mind and body. To stay healthy, we need to exercise and spend time outdoors. Schools could organize more outdoor activities, like hiking and cycling trips. Although life will be more convenient, we mustn't forget to care about others or build real friendships. We can have face-to-face meetings with friends, share our experiences, and enjoy each other's company. 

The future is exciting!With technology and our efforts, we can create a better world where people will live happily and healthily. 

It may sound strange, but some people in China now enjoy a new hobby in supermarkets. It is called"supermarket beach combing (赶海)". This means they look for small sea animals while shopping for seafood. 

These animals sometimes hide in shells or on seafood. People may find sea snails, tiny crabs, or sea plants. They used to only see these things at the beach, but now they can find them in stores. This is a fun change for many shoppers. 

On a popular app called Xiaohongshu, many people post pictures and videos of the sea animals they find. This makes others curious (好奇的) and excited to try it too. The supermarket becomes more than just a place to buy food.

Watching fish swim can help people feel relaxed. Looking at sea animals can bring joy during a busy day. Many people say this new activity helps them feel closer to nature. 

This is a big change from what people used to think about supermarkets. In the past, shopping might be just something to do quickly. Now, it's also a way to enjoy nature and spend time with family. What started as a simple trip to the store has become a new and happy experience for many people. 

Nine years ago, I moved to a city in EastYorkshire with my family, because I got a new job there. Since then, I have been busy with my job. I didn't go back to my hometown until last month. 

When I got off the bus, I could hardly find the way to my house. With the help of a policeman, I finally found my house where I had lived for about twenty years. My house with a small garden was in the middle of the fields. There are many houses around it now. The small garden is now a bar. Many people talk with friends and drink wine there. All of my neighbors and friends in my childhood had moved to other places. I didn't meet anyone I knew. It made me lonely. The town center is completely different, too. The old market has disappeared. Now there is a big shopping center there. Even the old white building where I went to learn how to play chess has been replaced(取代)with a meeting center. The butcher's shop where we got fresh meat in the mornings is now a bookshop. The quiet streets I used to walk on are now filled with cars and people. Some old trees have been cut down to build wider roads and new stores. The small park where I used to fly kites with my father has become a parking lot. 

My hometown has changed so much that it makes me surprised. Although I didn't know anyone well, it is still a fascinating place because I love my hometown deeply.

Donnie was not brave. When he made a mistake, he felt like it was the end of the world. things changed when Ms White, a new teacher, came to his school. She taught Donnie maths. 

It was a (cloud) morning. After class, Ms White noticed Donnie was crying. She took him to the office and gently asked him what happened. Donnie explained that he made many mistakes in his class exercises. 

At first, Ms White didn't know how to cheer up young boy. (sudden),her eyes lit up. She found some erasers and put them in front of Donnie. 

"See these erasers, Donnie?" she began. "They are(I).Look at how worn(磨损的)they are. I make mistakes too,but I erase them and try again instead of (cry) over them." Ms White continued, "Nobody is perfect. Everybody, even (teacher), makes mistakes." 

 a smile, Donnie looked up and nodded. He replied, "Thank you, Ms White. I (learn) the meaning of mistakes already— they help us develop and grow." After that, Donnie became much(brave). He no longer worried about making mistakes. Also, he was willing to share his experiences with others and help them become brave as well.

Every student has the power to become a great （思想家）. I suppose that many of us don't realize this at first. I used to （相信） the truth was that you were either born smart or you weren't. My daily habit was to copy notes （简单） from the blackboard without really understanding them, especially in my  (物理） class. The notes felt like a list of old rules.

Ye Jiaying, also known as "Poetry's Daughter", passed away on November 24, 2024, at the age of 100. Ye was famous for creating, studying and teaching the beautiful art of Chinese poetry(诗词).

"In my view, studying classical Chinese poetry can help me feel deeply, imagine widely, and look far into the future." Ye once said. "The study of poetry is not a goal that I go for, but a strength that supports me when I meet difficulties," she wrote at age 87.

Ye was born to a family of intellectuals (知识分子) in Beijing in 1924. She learned classical poetry and English from a young age. However, Ye's life has much sadness. She lost her mother when she was only 17 years old, and her eldest daughter died when Ye reached middle age. But she never gave up. In college, she studied poetry from the Tang and Song dynasties with a famous master of Chinese literature Gu Sui, who greatly influenced her.

In the 1950s and 1960s, she taught at universities in Taiwan. Then, she moved to Canada in 1969. In 1979, she started giving free speeches on the Chinese mainland during the holidays. In 2018 and 2019, she gave away all her money, about 35.68 million yuan, to Nankai University. She was given The Touching China award in 2020.

At 92, she picked 218 ancient poems for kids and made videos to explain and read them. Even at 96, she gave talks at Nankai University, sitting in a wheelchair. Those who listened to her speeches said she made it easy to understand poetry and guided students to learn step by step.

Dai Jinhua, a woman professor of Chinese literature at Peking University, once said, "It is Ye who makes me see the wisdom of a teacher and encourages me to become one."

Do you wonder why some kids can stay calm while others get nervous so easily? Why do some kids do everything very quickly while others are very sluggish? Why are some kids always happy while some feel upset all times?

One of the answers to these questions is personality (个性). People were born with different personalities. A baby gets its blood type, genes (基因) and other physical things when it is still inside its mother. These factors (因素) make part of your personality. Besides, family life, school learning and life experiences can also decide what kind of person you are. You may not like your personality. Don't worry. You can always try to change it and make yourself better.

If you are a sluggish person who always does things slowly, you'd better make a plan every day When you finish something, draw a happy face. If not, draw a crying one. No one would like to see a crying face and you will have the desire to change it into a smiling one.

All in all, don't get too worried about your shortcomings(缺点). No one is perfect. That's why many people are trying to change. Don't give yourself a hard time about it. It's not easy to change the habits overnight. Remember" Rome is not built in a day". Keep working at it. One day you' ll see that you can turn over a new leaf and be a new person.

"Wake up, my boy," Dad said to me lovingly. I opened my eyes with a sweet smile. Dad hugged me and asked what I wanted for breakfast.

"I want pancakes," I shouted and got up.

"Pancakes? That's a big job for just one dad to take on," he said. "I need your help."

I sat quietly for a while. I had burned myself on the stove (炉子) before, and I felt nervous. But Dad took my hand, and we went downstairs together.

In the kitchen, Dad took out flour (面粉), sugar, and oil. I took out milk and eggs from the fridge, but one egg fell on the floor and broke.

"No worries," Dad said, giving me a cloth to clean up the mess.

We then mixed everything, and Dad poured the batter (倒面糊) into the pan. Little bubbles (气泡) began to pop in the middle, which meant it was time to turn over the pancake.

"Ready to turn it over, Leo?"

"Dad! No! That's the scariest part! I got burned the last time I touched a pan!"

"Well, you won't ever get over your fear if you don't try again, will you? And this is the part of the pancake-making process where I need the most help."

Dad handed me a spatula (铲). I stared at my breakfast, about to burn if I didn't act fast.

I held my breath and turned over the pancake. It landed perfectly!

"You did it!" Dad said, giving me a high five. I nodded, feeling proud. I knew cooking could be so fun. And I learned that even though things can be difficult sometimes, it's great to be brave and try!
