This kind of conversation is common among young people.They believe zodiac signs can show people's personality.This idea actually comes from astrology（占星术）.It's an ancient belief system，saying the positions of stars and planets at your birth can shape your personality.Like the Chinese zodiac，astrology groups people into twelve zodiac signs.However，the Chinese zodiac is based on birth years，while astrology is based on birth dates.But is it real science？The answer is NO.

There are two main reasons for this myth（迷思）.First，there is no physical connection between planets and our lives—planets are too far away to influence us.Second，the Barnum effect（巴纳姆效应）explains why people still believe in it：astrology uses unclear and positive words.They fit almost everyone.People usually remember the true words and forget the ones not fitting them，creating a false feeling of truth.

To prove this，physicist Shawn Carlson did a famous study.He asked 30 top experts in astrology to match people's birth dates with their real personalities.However，the results showed these experts got only about 30 percent of them correct.This was no better than guessing.This study clearly showed that astrology cannot predict or describe true personality.

In short，astrology can be harmless fun and a good conversation starter.But it is not science.Never let a zodiac sign decide who you are.Your personality comes from what you are born with，your experiences，and the environment—not the stars.

Though the meaning of body language is different, there are some expressions having the same meaning throughout the world, such as smiling and crying.

Handshaking is a kind of silent language. As  expression of greeting when people meet or say goodbye to each other, it is a common manner on most social occasions (场合). However, it is sometimes difficult to know when to shake hands with others, so (learn) some basic handshake rules is quite important for everyone.

Who should offer his hand first? Generally speaking, the elder, the teacher, the female and the married should reach out their hands first. you have to shake hands with more than one person, you should shake hands in turn from the senior and leader to the junior, from the (near) to the farthest. When the host (meet) the guest, the host should reach out his hand first to show his welcome. However, it's the guest who should offer his hand first when they say goodbye. What's more, if someone offers you their hand, you must shake it at once.

Then how to shake hands with others? It is not right (shake)hands for too long or too short. Three to five seconds is the best, not more than 30seconds. There are also some (point) that should be paid attention to when shaking hands. You can't shake hands (careless) or with your left hand. Before you shake hands, you should take off (you) hat,gloves and sunglasses first. You had better not refuse to shake hands with others or shake hands while having your other hand  your pocket.
