①Should kids learn to do housework when staying at home alone or studying in school? Some editors(编辑) from China Daily are talking about their opinions about it.
②Michael: By learning basic skills like cooking, cleaning and using home appliances(家用电器) in right ways, children can learn how to take care of themselves and live independently(独立地). Parents won't always be there to help their children with every problem they might meet in their life. They need to learn new things, make mistakes, solve problems and grow from their experiences.
③Jade: With all the required classes, there is no more time for household(家务的) courses. I think it is something that parents need to do at home with their kids, having them help around the house with cooking, cleaning, washing and so on. Schools can't teach your kids everything. They need you too!
④Linda: Schools are supposed to have cooking classes. Children will be taught to cook. Many parents don't have this kind of knowledge and have no time to do this. A household class would provide the knowledge and training that parents are unable to do.
⑤Maria:I learnt some basic cooking skills from my mother, but most of them were learned after I graduated from college, from recipe(食谱) books and online short videos. Household skills like cooking are much more useful than a lot of what is now taught in schools. I hope these classes will benefit students and not be seen as window dressing.

Scientists have found four groups of emperor penguins in Antarctica with new satellite images. These groups, called "colonies", are all small with less than 1, 000 pairs of penguins.
Emperor penguins are the world's largest sea birds that cannot fly but can swim. However, the number of them has dropped and they live in fewer areas than before. The penguins raise their babies on frozen sea ice during winter. If the ice breaks up before the babies grow up, many of the babies might die. So some penguins are moving away from their old colonies to find more stable sea ice.
Peter Fretwell, a researcher at the British Antarctic Survey, said that conditions at one colony had become more dangerous since 2016. As a result, the colony near Halley Bay seems to have moved about 30 kilometres east. The four new colonies may have been around for years, but scientists have just recently seen them. Though the four newly found colonies do not change the population for the birds a lot, Fretwell said the fact that one of the colonies moved helps scientists to understand where the birds are going.
Daniel Zitterbar t is a penguin researcher. He said that it is unclear if the new groups broke away from the larger colonies. He added that the places where the penguins breeding(繁殖) are changing. As the world gets warmer, more penguins will be on the move.
