On June 11th, 2024, something amazing happened in Wuhan. Baidu, a big tech company, said that 1, 000 driverless taxis are now working in the city.

Baidu, which has the biggest search engine in China, got permission to let its Apollo Go autonomous ride-hailing service run on the open roads in Wuhan during the day. This is a big step for Baidu and maybe a change in how China sees this new technology.

With this permission, Baidu can offer fully driverless taxi services in some areas in Wuhan from 9 am to 5 pm. At first, there will not be too many of these taxis.

The coming of these driverless taxis changes how people travel. They can work all the time, so people can get a taxi whenever they want, even late at night. This makes it easier for people to move around the city and makes the city livelier at night and better for business.

Also, this technology saves money because there are no drivers to pay. This might make taking a taxi cheaper in the future. And it's safer because there are no mistakes from human drivers like being tired.

But there are some problems. Traditional taxi drivers might have a hard time. We need to think about how to help them find new jobs.

All in all, 1, 000 driverless taxis in Wuhan are a big thing. It shows we are moving faster to a new time of smart travel. There might be some hard times, but there are also more chances and good things. We hope driverless technology gets better and better and makes travel better for everyone.

In recent years, many schools in China have had high-tech changes. They have turned from using"old-school" multimedia tools to AI technology to add value to student learning and life at school.

At Tianjin Eco-City School, the Chinese tech company iFlytek's smart school system makes learning a full experience. In science classes, students use VR glasses to learn about what's inside a rocket and how it is sent up in a computer game.

For P. E. classes, Yuwen School in Wuhu, Anhui, has used self-testing tools with AI visual analysis technology for activities such as standing long jump, sit-ups and so on. With facial recognition technology, students can get voice reports and results on how they did right after each exercise to improve themselves.

As well as learning, students can also enjoy meals made by smart dining halls. In June, last year, Yingkou No.1 Middle School introduced a smart dining hall with an"online meal choice and facial recognition meal pickup" system. To meet the different needs of students, the dining hall offers over 400 dishes, with six to seven choices for each meal. Parents and students can choose meals at home from the online system. It helps the school plan and prepare meals, cutting down on food and kitchen waste.

China's Chang'e 6 landing craft successfully touched down on the moon's far side on Sunday morning. With the help of the Queqiao 2 relay satellite, the Chang'e 6 landing craft gently settled on the lunar surface at 6:23 am in the South Pole-Aitken Basin, the largest, oldest, and deepest basin on the moon.

This landing marks the arrival of China's, and also the world's second spacecraft on the far side. Scientists believe this area may hold answers to many mysteries about the moon and the solar system. In the next two days, the Chinese craft is scheduled to use a robotic arm and a drill to gather surface and underground materials and return them. If this mission goes as planned, it will be the first time that samples from the lunar far side have been brought.

The complex landing operation of Chang'e 6 began on Thursday. The landing craft separated from the orbiting combination on that day to prepare for the landing. Early on Sunday morning, the landing craft started orbital descent at 6:09 am. During the descent, it constantly adjusted its position. When it reached about 100 meters above the moon, the landing vessel briefly hung in the sky for obstacle examination before continuing to drop. At the final moment, the main engine stopped, and a buffer system was activated for a smooth landing.

The Chang'e 6 mission, the world's first attempt to bring samples from the far side of the moon back to Earth, was launched by a Long March 5 carrier rocket on May 3. It entered lunar orbit on May 8. Like previous Chinese lunar probes, the 8.35-metric-ton Chang'e 6spacecraft was designed and built by the China Academy of Space Technology. Before this, China's Chang'e 5 completed a lunar sample-return mission from the near side in the winter of 2020.

One Saturday night I enjoyed the book Moments We Shared by Zhang Jiajia. When I just finished(read) it, I closed my eyes, feeling like I had gone inside the story to discover what life(real) meant. 

The main character is Liu Shisan. He grew up in a small town called Yunbianhis grandmother. 

Liu wanted to go to college so he could see more of the world. He studied hard to pass the test, but after he (graduate), life wasn't easy. He had a hard time at work and didn't get paid much he wasn't doing well. He felt down. When he went back home, he(tell) by his friend that being happy was the most important thing instead of being successful. 

This made me think about my mom and grandma. They always make sure I have god lunch and try to give me different food every day. When I'm sad, my mom talks to me like a friend. At school, I have lots of friends who tell (funny) stories in the world and make me laugh. Before, I was shy and didn't ask questions. But my friends helped me feel more confident and happy. 

This book is special because it shows us important it is to love and care for our family and friends. Liu's story tells us that when life is hard, our loved (one) are there to help us. We should cherish(珍惜) them. 

Last Sunday, I got an invitation from my best friend, Lucy, to have a picnic in the park. I was really excited because

it's been a(长) time since we hung out together. I(借;借用) a big picnic blanket from my neighbor because(我们的)was too small. 

When I (到达) at the park, the sight was amazing. The leaves on the trees had turned all kinds of beautiful colors-red, orange, and yellow. They were slowly falling down, covering the ground like a colorful carpet. Lucy was already there, and she had prepared plenty of delicious (小吃). 

We spread out the blanket and sat down, feeling very relaxed. We started chatting about our daily lives. I told her that I had a new(习惯) of reading before going to bed every night. However, we noticed that our(同班同学), Ben, was absent. We wondered where he was. Later, we heard that Ben was sick at home. This made me (领会;认识到) how important it is to take care of ourselves. We usually think we are healthy and will be fine normally, but (有时) small things can make us sick.
