Sometimes our friends can do things that make us upset, and we might want to talk to them about it. But how can we make these talks easier? Here are some tips:

If you get angry, both of you might get into a fight. You can tell your friend that this talk makes you feel a little nervous. In this way, you will show a more human side.

Give up being right. It's important to listen to your friend's opinion. You can try to understand how he or she feels.

You can lower the chances of arguing by listening carefully to your friend. Many experts suggest planning what you want to say, so you can say it in a way that doesn't create trouble. But don't plan so much that you can't be flexible in the talk.

Be realistic (现实的). Remember that difficult problems can't be solved in just one talk. If so, any problem can be easy in one discussion. This will help you set realistic goals.

What can you do to get on with your friends?

Last year, Shanghai's International Children's Book Fair (展览会) celebrated its tenth birthday. More than 30,000 different kinds of new books (be) on show.

Children enjoyed the fair a lot. "This is always a big event I look forward to," said Qiqi, an 8-year-old girl. "The fair is full fun books and fun activities."

The Fair hoped that disabled children could also get one of (sweet) experiences from reading and make the greatest progress. It was also a place for writers (introduce) their new books. Well-known writer Zhou Xiang joined the Fair with his new work Fun at Bazaar with Dad. Children liked reading very much.

"The idea for this work came from unusual experience during my first trip to Xinjiang. While I (make) my way to my hotel, I lost myself in the lively market with so much delicious food and fun things with Xinjiang characteristics," he said. Jingwai Mingde Primary School in Yunnan is a big hit these days. With more than 1,000 teachers and students, the school has (实现) their dreams by offering farming food for students since 16 years ago. How can the school do that?

The school has 100 (千) square meters of farmland. It wants students to do some farm (杂务) to learn some labor skills. So the school offers each class a piece of land to grow vegetables or raise animals (两次) a week.

There's also a zoo that can (带领) students to get close to animals. (最近), the school sets up a greenhouse for them to know about fruit trees, (代替) of listening to teachers in the classroom. There they learn how to raise animals and grow fruit (兴奋的).

South Pacific was a Broadway (百老汇) musical from the 1950s. It played many popular songs. One of them was "Happy Talk." It goes, "Happy talk, keep talking happy talk. Talk about things you like to do. You have got to have a dream. If you don't have a dream, how can you have a dream come true?"

Now, as a middle school student, you are beginning to think seriously about what you want your life to be like in the future. Alongside these "dreams" come many questions: Where do I want to live and work? What job is right for me? And, as you dream about the future, you need to start thinking about how to make those dreams "come true." Without a plan, your dreams will die becausethey are funny and hard to realize.

Some of you may already have clear ideas about your future, but many of you may not. You may have so many dreams that it's hard to choose which one to follow. If you're one of those people, a good way to cut down those choices and get a clearer picture of your future is to take an honest look at your strengths and weaknesses. Ask yourself: What am I most interested in? What am I best at?

For example, if you like working with computers, a job in computer science might be OK. If you like being outdoors with wild animals, you might want to become a zoologist. Whatever likes or special talents you have—eyes, we all have special talents—you should try to improve them. You may benefit from talking to people who share similar likes and talents or those with the same jobs that interest you.

The future is a funny place! But by having a dream that you can realize and staying active, you are well on your way to making your dream "come true".

"Excuse me, sir, are you homeless? If you are, here's a dollar," the boy said, and explained that he made the dollar by getting good grades. Although it was his only money, he was eager to give it to someone that needed it more than him.

"I always wanted to help a homeless person, and I finally had the chance," the boy said. In fact, the person the boy thought was homeless turned out to be the owner of a local sporting goods store. He has built and sold several outdoor companies with millions.

Moved by the boy's kindness, Matt invited the boy Kelvin for a snack and spoke with his father. Later, as a reward (奖赏) for Kelvin's kindness, Matt invited him to shop at his store, Buck Feather.

Kelvin had 40 seconds to choose anything he wanted, including a new bike. Although he was happy with the bike, Kelvin said that he didn't expect a reward when he gave away his dollar.

He shared that helping someone brought him joy. "Give something away, and you feel like you've got a lot of things from it," Kelvin said.

The boy's kindness deeply moved Matt. "If you give, you're actually going to get more out of that," the rich man said. "I couldn't understand that as a kid. And if we can spread that around, everything will change."

Are you looking at me? Do you know who I am? I'm a dodo (渡渡鸟)! You may think I'm just a character in Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Actually, there used to be tens of hundreds of us—for real. Now you can only see us in museums because we are all dead.

We lived on an island in the Indian Ocean. In the happy old days, there was enough to eat and all the animals were friendly. What a peaceful and safe life we had!

But in 1598, humans arrived. They cut down the trees and our lovely forest was gone. They hunted us because we were slow and couldn't fly. What's more, their pigs, cats and dogs ate our eggs. We were scared but there was nothing we could do!

As a result, we died out in 1681.

When you see us in museums today, please remember our sad story. The world is full of fantastic animals. Please do whatever you can to help animals. Make them as happy as a clam (蛤蜊), not as dead as a dodo.
