10、阅读下面材料,从方框中所给的A~E五个选项中选择正确的选项(其中一项是多余选项),将其序号填入1~4题,并回答第5题。
Wild birds need our help. Nearly 30% of the bird population in North America has disappeared (消失) over the past 50 years. By making a few simple changes, you can help turn your neighborhood into a safe habitat (栖息地) for birds. Here's how to get started.
1. ________
Spring is a nesting season, and birds like to pick up natural materials (材料) to build their homes. Instead of clearing the materials off, leave small sticks where they are, so the birds can easily get to them.
2. ________
Build or buy a nest box or birdhouse made of wood. Other materials, like plastic, can get too hot for birds. Carefully put your birdhouse in a safe place.
3. ________
If you have a bird feeder, keep the seed dry. Also clean your feeder in the dishwasher or with hot water at least once every two weeks (don't use soap). Let it dry before filling it again.
4. ________
When a bird looks at a window, it sees a reflection (反射) of the sky or trees instead of glass. This is why many birds fly into windows by mistake. You can help them out of danger by making your windows safe for birds.
A. Be smart with feeders.
B. Give birds homes.
C. Keep windows safe for birds.
D. Offer materials for nesting.
E. Leave the birds alone.
(1)、(2)、(3)、(4)、(5)、What are you going to do to help birds live a safe life in your neighborhood? (Answer no more than 15 words) -
11、①It's hard to imagine a place that's more extreme (极端的) than Death Valley in California and Nevada. Death Valley is the hottest and the driest place in North America. Yet Death Valley is full of life.
②Death Valley isn't an easy place to live. It gets less than two inches of rain a year, so there isn't much water. It's hot, too. In July, temperatures often climb to over 46℃. The ground is mostly sand and rocks. There is even a dried-up lake that has turned into salt crystals (结晶).
③None of this stops plants and animals from making Death Valley their home. People have found more than 1,000 types of plants there. It also has 51 types of mammals (哺乳动物), 36 kinds of reptiles (爬行动物), 6 types of fish, and more than 300 kinds of birds. The animals aren't all small, either. There are big ones like bighorn sheep, mountain lions, and mule deer.
④Water is the biggest challenge for anything that lives in Death Valley. Some plants have roots that go fifty feet under the ground to find water. Kangaroo rats get the waterthey need from the seeds (种子) of desert sunflowers. Tiny pupfish can live in water that is 32℃ and five times as salty as the ocean!
(1)、What do we know about Death Valley from the first two paragraphs?A、Death Valley is the coldest and driest in America. B、There is no life in Death Valley. C、There is a lot of water in Death Valley. D、The ground in Death Valley is mostly sand and rocks.(2)、In Paragraph 3, the writer shows his idea by ______.A、listing some numbers B、asking a question C、comparing facts D、telling a story(3)、The underlined word "they" in Paragraph 4 refers to ______.A、plants B、kangaroo rats C、seeds D、desert sunflowers(4)、Which of the following might be the best title for the passage?A、Death Valley—An Easy Place to Live B、Death Valley—A Place You Can't Miss! C、Life in Death Valley D、The Challenge of Living in Death Valley -

①Lucky you—if you're looking for a four-leaf clover, you might be able to find one in any clover patch (一块地) you come across! However, finding this sprout (嫩枝) will actually take some time.
②Clover plants grow in most temperate (温和的) areas around the world. They appear in places like fields, forests, and lawns. These plants usually have three leaflets. Only about 1 in every 5,000 clover leaves has four leaflets.
③______?A lot of it has to do with genes (基因). In humans, genes control eye color, height, foot size, and much more. In clovers, genes decide things like the number of leaflets that a plant has. And a clover must have a special set of genes to grow four leaflets. The environment also affects how many leaflets a clover has. For example, four-leaf clovers grow better in warm temperatures than in cold ones. So, four-leaf clovers need just the right genes and environment in order to grow. This makes them difficult to see.
④Looking through a clover land one by one to find a four-leaf clover might get a little tiring. Instead, when you come across some clovers, scan them with your eyes. Three-leaf clovers look liketriangles, and four-leaf clovers look like squares. As you glance (一瞥) over the patch, look for square shapes in the sea of triangles.
⑤With time, patience and a little good luck, you have a good chance of finding your four-leaf clover!
(1)、Which of the following can be put in ______ ?A、Why are four-leaf clovers so uncommon? B、How can you find four-leaf clovers? C、Where do four-leaf clovers grow? D、What do four-leaf clovers look like?(2)、What does the underlined word "triangle" in Paragraph ④ mean?A、B、

13、She Sees Happiness in Following Her Dream
①Zhao Wenying, a 65-year-old woman from Lishui, Zhejiang Province, recently became the world's oldest person to pass the professional (专业的) Rubik's Cube B-level exam. She also holds the world record for a person over the age of 60 to solve the Rubik's Cube blindfolded (被蒙住眼睛). She successfully completed a 3×3 Rubik's Cube in 3 minutes and 33 seconds in 2019, the fastest time in the world.
②Before retirement (退休), Zhao was a math teacher. After she stopped working, she began to solve the Rubik's Cube as a hobby. "I began to learn the Rubik's Cube in 2014. I remember the day when my granddaughter brought home a Rubik's Cube and Ifell for it at once," Zhao said.

Though it is difficult for people in their 60s to learn to solve the Rubik's Cube blindfolded, Zhao did her best to learn the skills. During her learning process, she used up four notebooks in all.

14、Henry, Paula and Millie write for the school newspaper. They have written the short articles below to help students improve their memory.
Rosie Bridge School

Memory Corner
Henry
A great way to help you remember something is to imagine a picture of it in your mind. If you make the picture big, strange or silly, you will remember it better. For example, to remember the word "smiles", we can imagine there is a "mile" between the first letter and the last letter. This makes it the longest word in the world. Remember: a picture is worth a thousand words.
Paula
A good method for remembering the spelling of a word is to make a short sentence (句子) with each letter of the word. For example, if you want to remember how to spell the word "because", you can use the sentence "Big elephants can always understand small elephants".
Millie
You will forget something very quickly unless you understand it well. For example, you may have trouble remembering the list of steps in the water cycle (循环). However, it is easier to remember these steps if you understand how the water cycle works.
(1)、How many ways are mentioned to help students improve memory?A、One. B、Two. C、Three. D、Four.(2)、To remember the word "success", which of the following may be Paula's advice?A、You can use the sentence "Sam's uncle can't come either, so sad!" B、You can imagine that "Three snakes are eating an umbrella, two cakes and an egg." C、You can just read the word again and again. D、You can understand the meaning of "success".(3)、You may read the passage from ______.A、a diary B、a newspaper C、a storybook D、the Internet -
