No one wakes up feeling happy every day. Even some people who seem always happy are not different. However, they never stop trying to be happy. Here are some of the habits of happy people.

Many national parks have park rangers（护林员）.  Yosemite's park rangers tell visitors about the plants and animals they might see during their visit. They often lead hikes（远足）.  They also lead nature walks through Yosemite Valley. They provide information about the park's wildlife: This helps visitors find and enjoy wildlife in a safe way.

Have you seen the clay soldiers in Xi' an's terracotta museum? Do you know the true colors of them?

More than 2, 000 years ago, Qin Shihuang, the first emperor of China, ordered people to build the Terracotta Army. He hoped that the army would guard him after he died. 

In 1974, some farmers found several clay soldiers by accident in Xi' an. After that, about 8, 000 more were found by archeologists（考古学家）. Today, the clay soldiers in Xi' an's terracotta museum are light brown. But they weren't always this color. When they were made, they had the colors of white, green, blue, red, purple and yellow. Sadly, most of the colors disappeared today. 

An area with more than a hundred clay soldiers was discovered by archeologists a few years ago. Many of them still had black hair, pink faces and black or brown eyes when they were found. If they were not protected well, their colors would disappear, too. After a clay soldier was found, archeologists used two steps to keep its color. First, they sprayed（喷）a special" water" on it. Then, they covered it in plastic. 

Archeologists are facing a new challenge now. They are going to find a way to put the colors onto the clay soldiers again. If they succeed in doing it, people will be able to see what the clay soldiers originally（最初）looked like. It must be very amazing. 

When it comes to warm-weather activities that are good for your health, you probably think of walking, climbing or running. But there's another beloved activity - - - gardening. 

A busy day in the garden can be a good form of exercise. It is helpful for your physical health. People breathe deeper when they are outside. As people breathe deeper, the oxygen. （氧气）level in their blood slowly increased, making them feel excited. 

Spending time outdoors has been shown to help lift spirits and lower levels of stress. After a working day in the hospital, I would spend an hour or so in my garden. I find that pulling grass can be relaxing after a long day. It provided me with the chance to slow down, plan or work out a problem in my mind. 

Gardening can also bring people together and make social connections stronger. The gardening community is rich with people willing to share their knowledge, time and sometimes plants with new gardeners. Many gardening friendships begin with celebrating a success or regretting a gardening mistake. The friendships that I've made have been the best gift that gardening has given me. During spring, my friends and neighbors plan our vegetable gardens together. In summer, we share flowers with each other. In fall, we hold a big party to enjoy the fruits or vegetables together. These activities improve the joy we get out of the garden and bring us closer together.

Nowadays, we students in Grade Eight have had quite a lot of problems in our daily lives.

As we know, there are mainly two kinds of people in the world — the extroverted(外向的) people and the introverted(内向的) people. Extroverted people are outgoing and they are good at making friends. The introverted people like to stay alone. In this way, they can think more carefully and solve problems better. 

Introversion is not the same as social phobia(社交恐惧症). People with social phobia may face many problems in daily lives. They always feel unhappy and not comfortable when talking with others. Besides, they may find it hard to sleep well. Some worry too much about social activities. Others feel stressed all the time, even when they are alone. For students with social phobia, simple things like answering a teacher's question or eating in the school cafeteria(食堂) can make their hearts beat fast. And they have difficulty making friends at school.

After a heavy snowfall in winter, children also play an important role in doing outdoor chores.

Spring and summer bring lots of rain and sun which make the grass in people's yards grow tall. It is common for kids to mow(割草) their yards to keep them fresh and tidy.

Doing all of these chores might sound like a lot of work.  People who don't have children might even pay neighborhood kids to take care of chores for them. It's a good way to make some money if you aren't old enough to have a real job yet.

Firefighters get a fire call every 24 seconds in the US on average(平均) . Every 87 seconds, a home fire happens. Just between January 1st, 2018 and January 1st, 2023, 11,180 home fire deaths happened in the country. But the best escape time for a fire is just three minutes or less. So everyone should pay attention to fire safety at home.

Avoid(避免) starting a fire by getting to know common causes. Cooking tools are the number-one cause of home fires. Be especially careful when using them. Never leave the kitchen while cooking and make sure the tools are completely off after cooking. Electrical appliances(电器) can result in a fire, so check them often to make sure they are working properly. Smoking is another common cause of house fires. It's never a good idea to smoke indoors, so take a few steps to go out. Lastly, don't forget little kids. They usually find fire exciting and think of fire as a toy. So keep them away from fire and teach them about dangers of fire.

The first step is to set up enough smoke alarms through your home. Get one in every room.

Prepare fireextinguishers

Keep fire extinguishers available at home. They can put out small fires. Check them often to make sure they work properly.

Create a plan for escape

A good plan should start with at least two escape ways from every room. Then know how fast your family can run, tell kids when and how to get out, and make a house map with all doors and windows. At last, choose a meeting place outside. And don't forget to practice it often with every family member.

You might think that these fire safety tips are common sense(常识) . However, it's difficult to think of them especially when you're in a life-and-death moment. Take action with the tips and never take fire safety lightly at home.
