In Fujian, the Lunar New Year is celebrated in a truly special way called "You Shen" (God-Parade). This event is a cultural practice that includes religious belief, art, and community spirit.

During the New Year, Fujian people make statues of gods (神像), who are believed to bring good luck and protection. These statues are placed on beautifully decorated flower cars, which are then paraded (被游行) through the streets, creating an environment full of joy. What makes You Shen unique among all the Spring Festival celebrations is its deep spiritual connection—something other celebrations do not have. Usually, people don't only watch the parade but also take part in it, believing that they can get good luck and happiness in the coming year.

The tradition of You Shen dates back to ancient times when villagers carried statues of gods to ask for good farming and safety. Over the centuries, it has grown into a wonderful festival that marks the Lunar New Year in Fujian. More than a religious ritual (宗教仪式), You Shen symbolizes sharing hope. The god's journey through the streets is seen as a way to spread good luck to every home. Also, neighbors stay closer by working together to prepare for the parade.

For Fujian people, You Shen is a cultural treasure. It is known for connecting modern life with ancient wisdom, reminding people to value (重视) tradition and stay connected as a community. Autumn has quietly arrived in Chengdu! Every year, osmanthus flowers (桂花) cover the whole city in soft golden color and strong sweet smells. The best part? You don't need to travel far or spend money. Just take the subway, and you can enjoy this natural gift of Chengdu.

Every autumn, you can still see flowers falling like a golden "waterfall" from the tree. It's a popular place with Hanfu lovers and local elderly people.

Next, walk through Guihua Alley, next to Kuanzhai Alley. It was called "Dangui Hutong" in the Qing Dynasty and has a 300-year history. Now, the government has planted many osmanthus trees there. In late autumn, when they are full of small yellow flowers, the street will turn into a dream-like road. Including the real trees, you can also see some osmanthus tree pictures on the building walls!

Finally, Wangjiang Tower Park connects osmanthus with poetry (诗). Most people know the place because of the poet Xue Tao and the bamboo forests. But few know it's also great for enjoying osmanthus in late autumn. Next to Xue Tao Memorial Hall, there are osmanthus trees. A light breeze brings sweet smells and flowers fall like rain. Light-colored dresses with a traditional Chinese style are perfect here.
