An Unforgettable Day

I have a lot of great memories and there is a special day for me to remember.  

Last winter, I took a trip to Sanya with my friend.  We got there by plane.  We had a good time.  On the first day, we rode along Haibin Road at sunset (日落).  The sea wind blew our hair kindly.  It was quite relaxing.  When we stopped at a food stand, we saw a ten-year-old boy.  He was selling some hand-made gifts in a little tent.  Those gifts were beautiful paintings of dolphins.  He told me that he drew the dolphins because he wanted people to take care of sea life.  I was deeply touched.  How kind the boy was!

On the second day, my friends and I got up very early in the morning because we didn't want to miss the sunrise (日出).  We got to Haitang Bay before 6:

00.  It was kind of cold and everything was quiet.  But later, the sun climbed up little by little and the sky turned from yellow to orange.  The sea water kept moving with a bit of sunshine and the white birds flew across the blue sea.  We enjoyed the colorful sunrise together.  What a nice morning it was!

Time goes fast but I will never forget the sunrise, the sunset and the kind people there.  They have become a colorful "painting" in my mind!

Tom is a teacher  New York.  He gives lessons to  students about the history of America.  But he comes from Africa.  In his country, a ten-year-old boy may spend  time in taking  of cows but not studying at school.  The kids also learn how to live in the forest.  Different from many other , Tom went to school.  , when he was 15, he  to America to study and became a teacher.  Tom also wrote  book called Facing the Lion.  In the book, he talks about his childhood.  He thinks kids should learn to be strong  happy.  Now Tom is  a project (项目), hoping that it will help kids face their own "lions". 

Once there were four bulls (公牛), and they were good friends.  They always stayed near each other.  When the lion saw them, he wanted to catch one of them as his prey (猎物).  But he knew that it would be too difficult for him to attack (攻击) a group of four together.  So he didn't come near them. 

One day, the lion had an idea.  He waited until one of the bulls walked away far enough from the others. 

"Did you know, Bull, that the other bulls always eat the best grass?"

"Go away.  Lion," said the bull.  "I'm not listening to you. " But the bull had a little question mark (问号) in his head now and he watched the other bulls when they were eating. 

The next day, the lion spoke to the second bull and told him what he had said to the first bull.  Again, the second bull told the lion that he wasn't listening, but he began to watch the other bulls.  Then the lion spoke to the third and to the fourth. 

Soon the four bulls became angry with each other and they stopped spending time together. 

In the end, the lion caught one bull and ate him up.  One by one he caught all the four bulls and ate them up. 

Swimming is a great way to stay healthy and have fun! But it can be dangerous if we don't do it the right way.  In China, drowning (溺水) is the main cause of accidental death (意外身亡) among children and teenagers.  So, let's learn some easy tips to swim safely. 

◆Warm Up Before You Swim

One of the most important things you can do to stay safe while swimming is to warm up before you get into the water.  You can do simple exercises like jumping jacks, arm circles, and leg swings to get your body ready for swimming. 

◆Learn to Swim in a Right Way

If you don't know how to swim, take lessons from a professional coach (专业教练).  Even if you can swim a little, learning the right skills can help you stay safe in the water. 

◆Build a Strong Body

Strength training is great for swimmers too! Simple exercises at home, like jump rope or sit-ups, can be very beneficial.  They can help make your body stronger, and even improve your swimming skills. 

◆Know What to Do in an Emergency (紧急情况)

Always swim in safe places like swimming pools or beaches where there are lifeguards (救生员).  If someone is drowning, don't try to save them by yourself.  Call for help instead or use a long stick or a rope to pull them to a safe place.  If you're in trouble, stay calm and float (漂浮) on your back until help arrives. 

Remember, swimming is a great way to keep healthy and have fun, but always follow these tips to be safe.
