China will start a three-year plan "Weight Management Year". Its goal is to help people understand how important it is to keep a healthy weight, because more and more people have weight problems these days.

To keep a healthy weight, we should healthy habits of eating and exercising. A balanced diet with more fruits and vegetables is important. For this reason, we should eat less sweet and fried food. Also, doing regular exercise running or swimming is good for us—these activities can burn calories and make our bodies stronger. Before exercise, remember to warm up your body.

Last week, our school had a great chance to invite a famous writer, Mr Brown, to give us a talk. This was the third time that our school organized such activity.

Mr Brown shared his road to becoming a writer. He told us, "Nothing in life comes (easy)." At the beginning of his writing career (事业), he faced lots of problems. Shaanxi Province in China is famous for its amazing noodle dishes. Can you imagine that there are over 280 kinds of noodle dishes in Shaanxi?

Why are there so many noodle dishes? Because Shaanxi has perfect weather and land for growing wheat (小麦). The dry mountains and plateaus (高原) help wheat grow well.

The most famous Shaanxi noodle is called daoxiao mian. Cooks use a special knife to cut the dough directly into boiling water. They hold the dough in one hand and cut quickly with the other.
