Look at this picture. There is a fairytale(童话式的) tree  in it. A father called Radamshome made it for his daughter. He is an artist and he makes video games.

His daughter wanted a warm place to  books in her bedroom. So Radamshome decided to build a dream tree house for her.

The colourful clothes we wear today are made by machines. But how did ancient people get colourful clothes? Tie-dye(扎染) was a good way.

Over 1,000 years ago, the Bai people in Yunnan used tie-dye to dye their clothes. Later, this skill became very popular. People even gave tie-dyed clothes to the emperor as gifts.

It is easy to do tie-dye. First, you use tools to tie, sew(缝制) or clip(夹住) your cloth. Then you put the folded(折叠的) cloth into dye. The Bai people often made blue dye from a kind of plant. Because the cloth is folded, some parts turn dark blue, and other parts are lighter. When you unfold(展开) the cloth, you will see beautiful patterns. Some look like animals, and others look like plants.

In the 1960s, tie-dye became popular in the US. People used it to make creative T-shirts and jeans. Many American children still learn tie-dye in their art classes.

At a famous recent fashion show, an Italian designer surprised people with tie-dyed dresses. He said, "Tie-dye is creative. We don't know what it will look like until the end. It's a surprise." Tie-dye has never really gone away.
