Host: Welcome to our programme! We're excited to have Liu Wenwen share her experience with the suona. Hello, Wenwen. Why did you choose to play the suona?

Liu: Actually I was born into a suona family. 

Host: How did you practice the suona when young?

Liu: In primary school, I got up at 4:00 am to practice it at home.  At the age of 8, my mother took me to big cities to learn from better teachers. To save money, we took the late-night train to Beijing and slept in the underpasses（地下通道）

Host: Did the hard situation last long? 

Liu:  I finally had my own teacher, the famous suona player Liu Ying, who gave me free classes. Thanks to her, I learned many new skills and had a deeper understanding of the suona.

Host: Could you share one of your unforgettable shows?

Liu: Sure! At the 2026 CCTV Spring Festival Gala, I performed Riding the Wind with Zhang Jie and Zhou Enxu.

Liu: The powerful sounds of the suona should be heard by more people. To achieve this, I plan to try new ways to mix suona art with modern music.

Aeroponics is a way of growing plants in air or mist (水雾) without soil. It has a long history. Many people believe it is the future of plant growing. However, for a long time, this technology was only used in labs or big farms. Ordinary people could never try it by themselves. Now, with the world's first soil-free growing system on the desk, everyone can try this special way of planting easily at home.

At the 2025 Spring Festival Gala (春晚), a robot show called Yang-BOT amazed everyone. It was the world's first large AI-driven robot performance. A year later, in 2026, the Wu-BOT show took it to a new level. It was performed by robots from the Chinese company Unitree together with over 80 students from Henan.

On the stage, the robots did some very difficult Kung Fu moves. For example, they performed backflips (后空翻) and jumped nearly three meters high into the air. They also used their hands to wave wooden sticks, just like real Kung Fu masters. It was a wonderful mix of traditional Chinese culture and modern technology.

How could the robots be so "smart"? Wang Xingxing, the founder of Unitree Robotics, shared the secret. He said, "The robots practiced over 100 million times in a computer simulation（模拟）before they stepped onto the real stage. This is called ‘Reinforcement Learning.' It helps robots learn how to keep balance and finish difficult moves. Every single move was the result of hundreds of millions of tries in the computer."

The Wu-BOT show was a big step forward. In the past, robots only performed simple dances. But this time, all 26 robots acted on their own, without any outside help. Wu-BOT is more than just a show. It proves that Chinese-made robots are no longer just following orders. They are becoming faster and stronger. In fact, China is already ahead of the rest of the world in robotics. True, robots are still in the early stages, and don't have everyday uses yet. But when you look at what has happened in such a short time, you'll probably say, "The future is much closer than I expected."

A young man who once worked in coal mines received a doctor's degree from Beijing University of Technology in June, 2025. His graduation acknowledgements（致谢辞）have been widely spread online and moved many people, but he chose to remain anonymous. He refused to tell his name because he did not want to be noticed by the public.

In the acknowledgements, he explained he was born in a small mountain village. His family was poor. At the age of 9, he had to leave home to practice Kung Fu. When he was 12, he started working in a coal mine with his father. After taking the national college entrance exam twice, he finally passed the exam at 19 with a score over 500 and entered a college.

Later, he worked much harder to receive both a master's and a doctor's degree. For his doctor's degree, a lot of field research was required, so he stayed in Xinjiang for a year. The weather there was terribly cold and the living conditions were really hard, but he never stopped. While studying, he also took on many other difficult jobs during breaks. Once he worked in an electronic factory in Shanghai to support himself. 

He thanked his teacher for believing in him, helping him, and teaching him important research skills. He also thanked his family and friends who gave him support and love. He believes that doing your best and taking action is what really matters. "Don't be afraid," he said. "Just do things with courage and careful planning."
