Cindy is not happy now. She wants to take a trip to a beautiful village with her classmates this Saturday, but her parents don't allow (允许) her to go.

Her parents are a little strict with her. She must follow the family rules. She must finish her homework before she listens to music. She can't watch TV or read a storybook on school nights. On Sunday mornings, she must learn to make some delicious food from her mother. She must play the piano on Sunday afternoons and she is good at it.

She also has to follow the school rules. She can't be late for school. It takes her about twenty minutes to get to school on foot every weekday. She must keep her hair short. She can't run in the classroom or in the hallways because it's quite dangerous. Sometimes she can't stand some of these rules.

Cindy's best friend helps her know that her parents and teachers make these rules to help her. Now she thinks the rules are useful.

Henry is a middle school student.  First, students must wear school uniforms on school days. Henry doesn't like the rule. He thinks it's too strict. He wants to wear his own clothes. Second, students can't eat in the classroom, and they must eat in the dining hall. 

Henry must follow many rules at home too. First, he must make his bed after getting up.  And Henry has to clean his room once a week. His parents say it's important to be a responsible (负责任的) boy. Henry can't watch TV or go out with his friends on school nights. 

Henry knows his parents make these rules to help him, but he wants to have his own time.

"Ben, brush your teeth before breakfast!"

"Ben, don't run in the classroom!"

All day long, parents and teachers keep telling Ben what to do and what not to do. At night, Ben lies (躺) in his bed and thinks, "I don't want any rules. They're terrible!"

Suddenly (突然), Ben is in his classroom. The classroom is noisy. Some students are eating. Some are running. But the teachers don't say anything. "Ha ha, it's so great!" Ben says. "There are no rules! Now I can go out to play!"

Ben goes to the cinema, and his favourite movie is on. But people talk a lot and walk here and there. Ben can't see or hear the movie well. He asks them to stop, but no one listens because there are no rules.

Ben goes to the zoo to watch animals. Many people feed food to animals there. Ben feels bad. Suddenly a bear runs at him. There are no rules in the zoo and someone lets it out! Ben is very afraid and he runs away...

Then he wakes up. "Oh, it is just a dream!"

Break the Rules Day (违规日) is on the second Wednesday, in June in New Hope School. On this day, students can break some rules to have fun.

①No funny hair or hats

②Only wear school uniforms

③Only wear school shoes

④Only have healthy lunch at school

⑤No music players at school

⑥No toys at school

●You have to pay one dollar when you break a rule. The school library can buy new books with your fines (罚款).

My name is Tina. There are many rules in my life. I think these rules are important for me.

At home, I can't play computer games on weekdays. I can play them for only half an hour on Sunday afternoon. I think it is good for my study because I can have much time to study. I must make the bed after I get up. And I must clean my room every day. So my bedroom is always clean and tidy. My mother says keeping the room tidy is good for my health.

I study at Sunny Middle School. It is big and new. At our school, we also have some rules. We can't be late for school. So we must arrive at school on time. We must get to school before eight in the morning. We need to wear the school uniform every day. In class, we have to be quiet. We can't listen to music. We can't eat in class. We must eat in the dining hall. After class, we can't run in the hallways.
