Surprise them with simple acts of kindness. Send a hand-written card to your grandparents. Write down your warm wishes on it. Cook dinner for them and make their favorite food. If you live far away, calling them on the phone and sharing your daily life is also a great idea.

Spend time together. If you have time, you can go for a walk in the park or read a book with them quietly.

I am Timo. Do you want to know what a school day is like? I can tell you about that.

My school begins at 9:00 am. I usually have breakfast at home. Then I walk to school. It's only a 10-minute walk. There are 18 students in my class. Each lesson is 45 minutes long. We study many things, like science, maths, home economics and PE. I really enjoy home economics lessons, because they teach me how to manage(操持，打理) a home and family life.

Lunchtime is usually at 12:00 at noon. The afternoon lessons begin at 12:30 and finish at 2:15 pm. After school, we have some time to hang out at the park. Then I go to my ice hockey club. It's my favourite sport.

My family always has dinner at around 6:00 pm. After that, I read with my parents for an hour. That's an important part of my everyday life. Then I get my schoolbag ready for the next day. At 9:30 pm, 1 go to bed.

So there you have it. That's my school day.

September 10th is Teachers' Day in China. We thank our teachers in many ways, such as  (dance) and singing. What is Teachers' Day like in other  (country)? Let's take a look.

Students in Thailand wear  (tradition) clothes on January 16th. They bring some flowers to schools and give the flowers to their teachers to show their thanks.

The students in the R. O. Korea visit teachers who teach (they) in the middle of May. The country (have) a service called "Looking for Teachers". It helps students find their old (teacher) homes.

On this day, Indian schools  (usual) let students be teachers. The student teachers give lessons to other students  their real teachers can have a break.

American students celebrate Teachers' Day on Tuesday of the  (one) full week of May. They make small presents like cards and paintings  their teachers. And many stores have special sales for teachers that day.

My first year at one of the top  (大学) is both exciting and challenging. The rules here are very  (严格的). For example, if a student is  (缺席的) from class too often, they will be warned. I find the teaching methods quite  (不同的) from high school. Sometimes, I feel  (孤独的) because I have not made many friends yet.

There is an annual cultural  (节日) on campus, which is a very  (重要的) event for all students. The decorations are beautiful, especially at night when all the  (电的) lights are turned on. I used to feel  (虚弱的) and tired during the exam period, but now I have learned to manage my time better.

For safety reasons, dangerous objects such as  (刀具) are not allowed in the dormitory. I understand that these rules are for our own good.

My mom often tells me about her school days. The biggest day is the School1 Day.

Chinese dumplings are one of the traditional foods in China. They look like ancient Chinese gold ingots (锭), which mean"rich". Chinese dumplings were first invented (发明) by Zhang Zhongjing in the Han Dynasty. He first used them for medical purposes (目的). Zhang used dumplings with mutton (羊肉) for the patients' ear chilblain. 

As time went by, dumplings became popular in the north of China, and now making dumplings on New Year's Eve has become a Chinese tradition. On New Year's Eve, family members get together to make dumplings. They may put a coin (硬币) in one of the dumplings. If someone eats the coin, he or she will have the best luck in the coming new year. Chinese dumplings are also popular in other Chinese holidays or festivals. 

In the past, people couldn't often eat dumplings because they were very poor. But now Chinese people are richer and richer, so we can eat dumplings at any time. 

Almost everyone in China likes dumplings. There are many kinds of fillings in dumplings, such as dumplings with meat and vegetables, and some with sugar, eggs and seafood. I like dumplings with vegetables and pork better than any other kind, especially eating them with vinegar. 

Making dumplings is a teamwork. People usually make dumplings at home. If you have no time to make dumplings, you can buy them from any supermarket. But on Chinese lunar New Year's Eve, making dumplings with family members means happiness and reunions. And now many foreigners also like Chinese dumplings. They eat dumplings and even learn to make dumplings. 

I hope dumplings will be loved by people all over the world. 

Labor classes at school can help students be active, creative (有创造力的) and happy in life.At the same time, students can learn the meaning of labor. So from this September, students in middle school will have at least one labor class a week.

There are many interesting labor classes now. Students from a school in Chongqing have a class about catching fish in the river and learning about their habits. In Shanxi Province, students make tofu with beans. They also cook it by themselves.The labor classes make them feel happy when they cook delicious meals. Some students also keep small animals at home like chickens. This helps students learn how to care about living things and also make them more interested in biology.

According to the new policy (政策) , middle school students need to learn the following skills in labor classes: clean their rooms and classrooms, pick proper (合适的) clothes for travel, cook three or four meals, and take part in labor activities such as planting or fishing.

A study shows that doing labor work is good for students. The students can get more self control (控制), do better in school, and feel happier from it.Labor classes not only teach them important skills but also are a great way to relax (放松) during a busy school day. So which kind of labor skill do you want to learn most？

Do you know Family Day? Family Day is a special day for families to have fun together. In Canada, Family Day is a holiday on the third Monday in February. Family Day is a good time for us to show love to our family. Here are some kinds of activities for Family Day. Try one of these fun family activities!

◆ Helping others is a very good family activity, so we can go to visit some old people and do some cleaning for them.
