20、阅读下面短文,从所给的A-E五个选项中选择最佳选项(其中有一项是多余选项),将其序号填入31-34题,并回答35题。
Most of you think that you can see better when your eyes open wider. It sounds right. Your eyes can get a wider view of the world, and more light can enter to make you see the world more clearly. However, people with short-sightedness (近视) may find that the opposite is true. In fact, people with short-sightedness often see things more clearly when they squint (眯眼看).
Why does squinting help people with short-sightedness see more clearly? Here's the reason. Your lens(晶状体), on the front of your eye, is changing shape all the time. This helps you focus on objects both near and far. Squinting can offer a bit of help to this process. It helps focus light in the right place. It works by controlling the number of light going into eyes.
To see clearly, you need the light focused by the lens to hit the retina(视网膜) —at the back of your eyes as exactly as possible. The lens of the eyes becomes harder as we get older. So it cannot focus light as well as it used to. By squinting, people are actually changing the shapes of their eyes, so that the light focuses correctly on the retina.
Also, a little squinting is not harmful to your eyesight. It's OK to squint once in a while to see something. If you find yourself doing it all the time, get your eyes checked as soon as possible.
A.It is very important to protect our eyes.
B.However, the lens of the eyes doesn't work well all the time.
C.But too much squinting can be a sign of failing your eyesight.
D.This is true for people with good sight.
E.And how does squinting work?
What can you do to prevent short-sightedness? (不超过10词的句子回答问题)
