Last term, our class had a fun project called Global Products Hunt. We had to find out where"local"products are (actual) made and shared our findings in class. I chose Italy, and I was lucky enough to join  summer trip to Rome to do my research. 

I went to a busy local market to find a (tradition) Italian silk scarf for my grandma. To my surprise, most (scarf) with Italian labels in the market were made in China. "I checked three shops  I couldn't find one made in Italy, "I noted carefully in my notebook. I even talked to a shopkeeper, who said many brands make products in other countries (save) money. 

Besides this, football shirts with famous Italian team logos were made in Vietnam. Many colorful key rings and cute toy bears sold in the market were from China.  an amazing thing My classmates were really (shock) when I shared my results. 

I hope China will become better  making high-tech products. I also hope one day, Chinese brands will be as well-known as (that) from Italy and people all over the world will feel proud to buy them.

Researchers from a family psychology group did a one-year study on 200 families with school kids. They found that 78% of the mothers said they felt a sudden rush of worry and angry at exactly 10 p. m. , especially when their kids hadn't finished their homework yet. Why does this happen?

First, the 10 p. m. time is closely connected to the children's sleep plan. Doctors say school kids need 8-10 hours of sleep nightly. Staying up past 10 p. m. makes it hard for them to wake up on time and focus at school. Mothers, who usually take care of their kids' daily lives, feel stressed to make sure their children get enough rest. 

Second, mothers often have their own unfinished work by 10 p. m. . After a long day of working, cooking, and cleaning, they' re already very tired. Seeing kids still taking time with homework, their tiredness quickly turns into anger. 

Third, there's a mind-related reason called"deadline (最后期限) stress". People naturally feel worried when a set time to finish something is coming near. For many families, 10 p. m. is the unwritten deadline. Unfinished homework by then sharply raises mothers' stress. 

So, how can we fix the 10 p. m. Mom Phenomenon? Scientists suggest that parents and kids should make a homework plan together every morning. Finish the hardest tasks first, and take short rests every 40 minutes. This way, kids are more likely to finish their homework before 10 p. m. , and mothers can avoid the nightly"10 p. m. upset". 

After all, a peaceful evening is not just good for the kids—it's good for every person in the family. 

Lihan, a Grade 9 student, loved Hanfu very much. On weekends, she often wore Hanfu to take photos in the park, edited（编辑）them a little and shared the photos in the WeChat. For her, these photos served as a perfect way to share the beautiful Hanfu culture, which made her so proud. But soon, some unfriendly messages appeared in the group:

Sloths are slow because they only eat leaves, which give them very little energy. Moving slowly helps them save energy. Their stomachs work very slowly, too. It can take them a month to break down one meal of leaves.

Most sloths live high in the rainforest of Central and South America. They are fantastic climbers. In fact, they spend almost their whole lives hanging upside down in tall trees. Being high up in the trees keeps them safe from predators on the ground.

About once a week, sloths climb down to poop (大便). This trip is dangerous, but it is important to nature. Tiny moths (飞戦) live in sloths' fur. They lay eggs in sloths' poop and then fly back to the sloths. On the way, moths bring tiny bits of algae(藻类) to sloths' fur. These algae grow and turn the fur green, so sloths can hide in the leaves. In this way, the algae, the moths, and the sloths are all able to survive in the forest.

By learning about sloths, we see that every living thing, no matter how slow or small, has a job in nature's big family. Being slow can be smart. Protecting nature means protecting every living thing.
