My family had a wonderful holiday in China a few years ago. We visited several cities in eleven days. 

Our first stop was Beijing, and Nancy was our guide. She led us to all the important places, such as the Great Wall, the Forbidden City and the hutongs. Her English was perfect, and she could explain ( 解 释 ) their history and culture well. We were really thankful for her work as it added value to our trip. 

Next, we went to Chengdu and enjoyed everything there. Like everybody else, we fell in love with the cute pandas. 

But the days in Zhangjiajie turned out to be our favourite part of the trip. We headed straight to Tianmen Mountain on Day One. With its glass-bottomed bridges and cliff paths, this place is not for weak hearts. But the picturesque(优美的) views took my breath away. I couldn't help taking pictures. By the end of that day, I had several hundred more pictures on my phone. We were not so lucky the next day as the weather turned bad. It was harder for us to see the scenery clearly. That scenery inspired the mountains in the film Avatar(《阿凡达》) , and we were looking forward to seeing it with our own eyes. It was such a pity. 

After saying goodbye to China's first national park, we headed toShanghai for the last leg of our trip. We had a great time, and the journey still feels like it happened yesterday. 

It was a day in 

2014. Xu Yitang went to an aquarium(水族馆) in Beijing with friends. At that time, he had no idea that this trip would make a difference in his life. 

Xu saw some coral( 珊瑚) in the aquarium. He lost himself in the beauty of it. After that day, he became interested in the natural wonder. He started visiting experienced people to learn how to grow coral. He also learned online. Later, he started to grow coral at home. 

Xu was a college student then. He studied Peking Opera( 京剧). He thought he would probably take on a job about Peking Opera after finishing college. But as he learned more about coral, he knew that it is very important. Coral reefs( 珊瑚礁 ) are home to many sea animals. However, they are in great need of protection ( 保 护 ) . Xu wanted to help and he did so. After finishing college, he took a job protecting the coral in Hainan. 

Each day, Xu spends hours staying in the sea water to study the beautiful coral. Sometimes, he has to work late at night in the sea. It is very difficult and dangerous. Although his work is hard, he enjoys it. When he is free, he likes to share beautiful coral photos and videos online. He wants more people to take action to protect the coral and the sea.

As we all know, the Yangtze River is the longest river in China. But today I'd love to introduce another famous river to you— the Yellow River. The Yellow River is the second 1 river in China. The"yellow"

in its name is from the mud (泥) and sand. About 90% of the mud and sand in the Yellow River 2 the Loess Plateau(黄土高原). The Loess Plateau is loose(松的) and easy to be washed away. As a result, in the season of 3 rainfall, a lot of mud and sand goes into the Yellow River.
