What would it be like to live on Mars, the (four) planet from the sun? Recently, the movie The Martian(《火星救援》) (give) us some answers. It tells a story about a botanist(植物学家) who (leave) on Mars for nearly two years. To survive, he finds way to grow potatoes in a special room. He wears a spacesuit  he is outside his"home". The botanist drives a rover(探测器) on the surface of Mars. But some bad storms make life there very difficult.

On Mars, people could grow (crop) such as wheat and potatoes in special boxes. They could help make oxygen for humans to breathe like trees do on Earth.

How to move around Mars? People have (exact) suggested cars, bikes, rovers, trains, cable cars and planes. However, there are no (office) plans for what humans will use.

The Three-Body Problem is a science fiction novel by Chinese writer Liu Cixin. It tells the story of how humans make contact with aliens from a planet called Trisolaris(三体). The Trisolarans live in a solar system with three suns, and their unpredictable movements make life on the planet extremely difficult.

In the story, some humans on Earth send a message into space, hoping to find alien life. However, the Trisolarans see Earth as a perfect new home and plan to take it over. To do this, they send powerful particles(智子) to stop human scientific progress.

 For example, the particles  can  mess up experiments and make it impossible for scientists to discover new physics.This forces humans to think of creative ways to fight back, even when technology seems unable to develop.

Through this crisis, the novel explores human courage, curiosity, and the desire to survive. It shows that even in the face of the unknown, humanity's greatest strengths are teamwork and never giving up.

When you see a strange light or object in the sky that you can't immediately identify, you have just seen a UFO. A UFO simply means something in the air we don't recognize yet. It doesn't necessarily mean an alien spaceship. In fact, over_80% of UFO reports turn out to have ordinary explanations.

Many common things are often mistaken for mysterious objects. For example, an flying airplane at dawn can look like a self-moving light because it catches the sun's rays while the ground below is dark. Special clouds shaped like flying saucers(碟状)are also mistaken for UFO. Even bright planets have been confused for strange crafts.

Because these sightings can be reported by pilots or the army, governments take them seriously for safety reasons. In July 2022, the U. S. Department of Defense(国防部) created a special office for this. Its main job is not to find aliens, but to collect reports, study the data, and figure out if these objects are any kind of danger. The office works to remove the bad feeling that people might have about reporting something unusual, so that more information can be collected.

So, what about the remaining small percentage of truly confusing cases? Scientists keep an open but careful mind. They use better tools, like AI, to study the data. The aim is to find answers, whether the answer is a new type of drone(无人机)  or something else entirely. The scientific spirit is not to jump to exciting conclusions, but to patiently look for evidence(证据).

We often think of time travel as something from science fiction-fancy machines spinning through bright tunnels(隧道). But what if you are already a"time traveler"every single day? Your tool isn't a machine, it's your smartphone.

When you video call your grandparents who live far away, you are connecting different"time zones" of life. When you look at a digitized old family photo online,you  bring  a  moment  from  years  ago  onto  your  screen  today.  In  a  way,  these technologies allow us to"visit" the past and make it part of our now. They break the simple, one-way flow of time, letting past and present exist together. This is a quiet,everyday kind of"time travel".

However, this power has a cost. Spending too much time looking at old photos or social media posts can sometimes trap us in"digital nostalgia(怀旧)". We might keep looking back, wishing for"the good old days", and forget to live fully in our own present moment. The real challenge of modern life is not how to travel in time, but how to manage our time among the past, present, and future that all appear on our screens.

So, is this good or bad? The answer isn't simple. Technology itself is neutral(中性的). It can be a bridge to precious memories or a wall that stops us from making new ones. The key is how we use it. We should use it to learn from the past and plan for the future, but not let it steal our present. After all, the most important time to live is always"now".

My cousin, Zoe, is 13 years old, an artist from Shenzhen. Months ago, a painting from her art exhibition was chosen for the English reading comprehension section of our city's 2025 high school entrance exam! The question in the exam was,"How does a Chinese girl hold on to her dream of meeting a blue whale in a future world?"

Zoe's painting, called"Xiaoyaoyou"(逍遥游), shows a girl standing in a future city. The sky is a strange color, and the buildings look both new and old. In the middle of the painting is a beautiful blue whale, swimming not in the ocean, but in the air above the city. The idea came from her worry about the environment and her love for these great animals. She imagined a future where blue whales were almost extinct, but one girl never gave up her dream of seeing one.

When Zoe first heard the news, she couldn't believe it. She felt shocked."I never imagined my personal thoughts could become a test question for so many students,"she said. Her feelings soon changed from surprise to a deep sense of responsibility.

She hopes her painting does more than just test English. She hopes it makes people think about protecting our planet, about holding on to dreams that seem impossible, and about how young people can use their creativity to express their care for the world. For Zoe, art is not just about making pretty pictures; it's her way of understanding the world and talking to it.

Biny liked to look at the stars before he went to sleep. He didn't know that in space, there was an alien spaceship. It was flying very fast towards the  1 . The aliens looked strange with long teeth. They didn't like their planet, which was polluted so seriously. They wanted to move to a new planet like the Earth. So they 2 an invasion(入侵).

Biny walked home from school. He went into the garden to read his favorite book. The aliens were really close now."Prepare to invade," shouted the alien captain.The spaceship flew down 6 towards Biny. Biny heard some sound close by but he thought it must be an insect(昆虫). The alien captain saw a good place to land his 7 , which was white and flat with black characters.

Then Biny saw something tiny land on the page of his book. He thought it was a small fly. The aliens came out of their spaceship and were very happy to be on the new planet. Then they saw a 8 of big eyes looking down at them. Just then, they knew they were no 9 than tiny insects on the Earth. But it was too late.Biny 10 his book. The aliens had no chance to go out.
