Zara Rutherford, a 22-year-old pilot, is sharing her journey around the world and plans for pace travel.

Are you troubled by mosquitoes(蚊子) ? Did mosquitoes bite(咬) your legs everywhere? Is it difficult to keep away from mosquitoes? Now, a new study shows that the colors you' re wearing also play a role in that. 

People have already found that mosquitoes look for their food by smelling carbon dioxide(二氧化碳 ). But recently, rescarchers from the University ofWashington put the mosquitoes into small test boxes with colorful points. When there was no carbon dioxide in the boxes, the mosquitocs would ignore the points. No matter what color thesc points are, it scemed that mosquitocs cannot see them. As long as researchers put carbon dioxide into the boxes, they flew towards red, orange or black points. But they didn't care points that were green, blue or purple. 

"Light colors arc seen as a danger to mosquitocs. That's because mosquitoes are casily dead becausc of strong sunlight and short of water. Instead, darker colors look like shadows(阴 影 ), which arc loved by mosquitocs. " said Timothy Best, one of the researchers.

The first time I ate Sichuan hot pot was in Changchun. I had only been in China for a week when Rui, my new Chinese friend, asked me, "Have you ever had hot pot?"

"No, what is it?" I answered. 

"It's good. You' ll really like it. See you tonight at 7?"

And so it was decided. 

We found a table at the crowded hot pot restaurant. Soon a large hot pot arrived. The hot pot itself had two sides. In one side was a cloudy white broth(汤). 

The broth in the other side was covered with bright red oil. 

"Is that red pepper(辣椒) oil?" I asked. 

"Yes, " Rui answered. "You should try it. If you like spicy(辣的) food, you' ll really enjoy it. "

Rui picked up a thin slice of mutton and put it in the red broth. In seconds, it was cooked, and he put it on my small plate. 

Rui pointed to the red broth and said, "If it is too spicy, you can use the other one. "

"No. " I said, "this is fine. "

But it was more than fine. It was spicy and amazing. I ate and ate until the restaurant was almost closed. ____

In China, people like to joke that there is no problem that a bot pot can't deal with. Over a hot pot people can talk and share not just food, but friendship. While the food may soon be forgotten, these friendships stay with us forever. Even today, when I think of hot pot, my friend Rui's face quickly comes to mind, and I remember all the good times I spent with him.
