This seems to be a dream, but a company has almost made it come true. By sensing the weight of a vehicle, the company's smart roads can record the speed of each wheel. After having collected traffic data, the roads will send it to the drivers. 

●Roads that never freeze

It can be dangerous to drive in snowy weather. A tech company has developed the snowless roads. When they feel snow or ice on their surfaces, the roads will heat themselves up, melting the snow or ice away. The project has been successfully tested on a few roads and in some car parks.

In a history class, Mrs. Bartlett asked the students to make a poster in groups. She told the students to write the names of friends they wanted in one group and she would think about their choices.

The next day, Karma was told to be in a group she would never want—the boy who was too weak in English, and the two girls who wore strange clothes. Oh, how she wanted to be with her friends. With tears in her eyes, Karma walked up to Mrs. Bartlett and said that she should be in the "good" group. The teacher

At last, the group got an A, but Karma thought they should hand the A back to Mrs. Bartlett because she brought out their potential (潜能).

For a long time, people have been curious about whether animals can have feelings like humans. Some people think that animals can feel happy, sad or scared, but it was not easy to prove this with science. Today, because of modern technology and methods, researchers are deeply exploring these feelings in animals.

In 2022, China introduced a new national curriculum standard (新课程标准) for labor education (劳动教育), requiring primary and secondary school students to attend at least one weekly class on basic labor skills. However, different people have different opinions.

Wang Lin, 40, a parent from Hubei Province:My daughter, Lily started helping out with chores at the age of 5. By learning basic skills like cooking and cleaning, she develops the ability to take care of herself. I think children need to learn new things, make mistakes and solve problems. It is necessary for them to master these important skills as early as possible.

Zhang Mei, 10, a student atFenghua Primary School:Many students spend all day studying and have no time for hobbies. These classes could help us explore new interests. For example, students who enjoy food might develop cooking skills.

MaXiaohong, 38, a middle school teacher: With the school day already packed with so many required subjects, there's simply no room for labor skills courses. Parents should teach kids practical skills at home, such as cooking, cleaning, washing, planting and so on. Remember, school can't teach your kids everything. They need you, too!

Everyone feels low or down from time to time. It does not always mean something is wrong. Feeling low is common after pain events or huge life changes. But sometimes periods of low spirit happen for no obvious (明显的) reasons.

Firstly, talk to someone. Your trusted friends, family members and teachers will be OK. Or you can just call a helpline. Secondly, read a book or watch a favorite television show. Having different experiences through others can make you feel happier. The experiences may from both reading and watching well-known characters on a favorite TV show. What's more, do some sports you like. There are many different types of exercise. They can improve your heart speed. They can make you feel good and make you keep away from the bad spirit. At last, tidy your room. You can either put messy things away or make everything in order. And you can just clean the room. All these things will make you feel happy and relieve the low spirit.

Low spirit, even depression, is very normal. The key is that we should dare to face it, choose the proper way to solve it. Everything will be fine in the future.
