Chinese calligraphy is known as"shufa". It's one of China's most treasured traditions. For (thousand) of years, people have used brushes, ink, and paper to create art with words. It's more than just writing——it's  way to express feelings and wisdom as well. 

When I first tried calligraphy, my teacher told me, "Every stroke（笔画）has a soul. " I dipped the brush into thick black ink and (careful)drew a horizontal line. My hand shook, and the line looked messy. But my teacher said a smile, "Patience is key. Let your heart guide the brush. " Over time, I learned that calligraphy teaches more than art—it also teaches focus and calmness. 

In ancient times, scholars spent years (learn) calligraphy writing reflected（反映）a beautiful well. They believed beautiful mind. Even today, many Chinese families hang calligraphy works at their home, often with meaningful sayings like"平安"(peace) or"福"(good fortune). These words carry people's hopes  wishes. 

Calligraphy is also part of festivals. During the Spring Festival, people write red couplets（春联）to decorate doors. The bold, flowing characters welcome luck and (happy) for the new year. 

Learning calligraphy helped me understand Chinese culture more deeply. Like a bridge, calligraphy (connect) the past and present. Every time I write, I feel  (close) to the wisdom of ancient poets and philosophers than before.  the Chinese saying goes, "Your handwriting mirrors your character. " Through calligraphy, I'm not just creating art——I'm growing patience and respect for tradition. 

Self-confidence is the key to success. It means believing in ourselves and knowing that we have value.  That's why confident people would like to speak up, try new things, and learn from mistakes. 

How can we build self-confidence?

 We can build it by recognizing our strengths and celebrating our progress, even the small steps. Speaking kindly to ourselves and keeping a positive mindset（思维模式）also help. Instead of feeling bad about failures, we should see them as opportunities（机会）to learn and grow. 

Support from family, friends, or teachers plays a big role in building confidence. Their encouragement helps us believe in ourselves and achieve our goals. However, social media can sometimes make us doubt ourselves by only showing the best parts of others' lives. 

Why does self-confidence matter?

 It is about knowing our purpose and direction in life, too. With it, we are more likely to set clear goals, stay true to our values, and move forward even when life gets hard. 

DeepSeek is a Chinese AI company founded in July 2023. It has surprised the industry since its new open-source（开源的）model DeepSeek-R1 was launched on 20 January 2025. It soon rose to the No. 1 on Apple's free app list in a week, passing ChatGPT from a leading AI company——OpenAI. It greatly impresses the AI industry. 

Unlike other AI companies, DeepSeek uses Reinforcement Learning（强化学习） as its main training method instead of traditional ways. It finds a way to let AI learn to think naturally, without using many marked data. This way helps the model learn through communication and rewards（正反馈）, making the model think better and work faster. 

DeepSeek-R1 works as well as the top models though it costs less than 6million US dollars to develop. However, other big companies, like Meta and OpenAI, often spend hundreds of millions of US dollars. 

Although OpenAI moved from open source to closed source, DeepSeek's founder Liang Wenfeng stresses the company's focus on keeping their work open-source. He believes working together and sharing ideas through open source is very important. The team wants to build a strong technology community to offer new chances for cooperation and development around the world. 

Many famous experts praised DeepSeek's progress, calling it one of the greatest achievements in AI industry. Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella thinks the new DeepSeek model amazing. It's open-source, runs very well, and uses less computing power. He really admired its efficiency. And Meta's chief AI scientist Yann LeCun also spoke highly of DeepSeek's effort to share knowledge, saying that everyone can benefit from published and open-source work. 

In Chentang Pass lived General Li Jing and his wife, Lady Yin. One night, Lady Yin had a strange dream. An old man appeared and gave her a magic pearl（灵珠）, saying she would have a special child. Soon after, she found herself having another baby. 

After carrying the pearl for over three years, Lady Yin gave birth during a storm. To everyone's surprise, it wasn't a baby but a strange round ball! Just as General Li raised his sword, the ball broke open. Out stepped a powerful, fully-grown boy named Ne Zha. He could speak and walk right away!

Ne Zha was not an ordinary child. He had amazing strength and magical weapons, given by the god. Soon his playful nature caused trouble. The villagers were scared and angry because he used magic to turn them into stones. One day, while swimming near home, he troubled the sea kingdom ruled by the Dragon King called Ao Guang. Angry, Ao Guang sent his son Ao Bing to stop Ne Zha. But Ne Zha beat Ao Bing easily with his magical weapons. 

Ao Guang, angry at Ne Zha's behaviour, warned that he would flood Chentang Pass unless Ne Zha was punished. To protect his family and the. villagers, Ne Zha bravely gave up his own life. 

However, Ne Zha's story wasn't over. His strong spirit remained alive, and the god gave him a new body made from lotus flowers. Now even stronger, Ne Zha became a protector of the weak and a fighter against evil. 

Though villagers praised Ne Zha, his father was unhappy, believing his son's return meant more trouble. This conflict（冲突）between them shaped Ne Zha' s future, but he continued bravely protecting others, becoming one of China's greatest heroes. 

When looking at the map of Shenzhen, one cannot miss the green mountain ridge（山脊）spreading nearly 200 kilometres across the city. It is called the Kunpeng Trail. Considered as one of China's top 10hiking places for 2024, recently the trail has quickly become a symbol of Shenzhen's natural beauty. 

The name"Kunpeng" comes from two creatures in ancient Chinese myths——Kun, a giant fish, and Peng, a huge bird. Together, they stand for the spirit of exploration and adventure. 

Starting from Bao' an and ending in Dapeng, the Kunpeng Trail is Shenzhen's longest hiking trail. The trail has 20 parts and connects 10 big mountains, around 20 parks, many lakes, cultural sites, over 30 city areas, and 9key development zones. 

Along the way, hikers can enjoy forests, rivers, and beautiful coastlines. The trail offers a special way to enjoy Shenzhen's different landscapes which are also served as a home for nearly 10, 000 kinds of plants and wild animals. 

According to the Shenzhen Municipal Urban Management Bureau, the trail is designed for people with different levels of outdoor experience. Each part has entry and exit points, allowing hikers to choose how far they want to go. 

The western area of the trail has easy paths, perfect for families with young children. The central area, attracting experienced hikers, is more difficult, while the eastern area is the most challenging, with high mountains and rough paths. The trail has clear signs every 500 metres, marked from YK000 to YK415, where"Y" means hiking and"K" stands for Kunpeng. 

Whether you are an experienced hiker or a first-time visitor, there is something exciting waiting for you along different parts of the trail. 

On a sunny afternoon, Mia, 14 years old, found a packet of sunflower seeds in her grandpa's garden. Excited, she planted one in a small pot, watered it 1 , and checked it every morning for growth. After three days with no results, she 2  to her grandpa, "Why isn't it growing? I' ve done everything right!"
