What Things Really Matter in Life?

As there are lots of things to care about in our life, what things really matter? I'd like to share my ideas with you here.

Happiness

Enjoy your life to the fullest. Your mood will affect your body. If you are happy, you probably can stay healthy.  Try to find the things that make you smile and you' ll be happy in your life.

Education（教育）

Following food, clothing and housing, education is the fourth basic（基本的）need for living.Through education, you can be a writer, a doctor, a teacher ... You can read books, watch plays and take an interest in the world. 

Healthy Life

Without a healthy lifestyle, life can be hard. So try your best to make everyday life healthy. What are the things you should follow to stay healthy?  Drinking enough water also plays an important part. What's more, doing exercise helps you live a healthy life.

Family Time

  So love your family and spend time with them. No other people can give you unconditional（无条件的）love like your family. They are those who care about you the most and always help you to do your best.

After learning about the important things in my life, are you thinking about yours? Different people may have different ideas. No matter what they are, remember to value（珍视）what is important to you.

Li Hongjia, a 31-year-old teacher from Wuhan, helps deaf（聋的）children learn to speak. She volunteered（志愿）as a university student at the Little Sunflower Rehabilitation Center years ago."One day I found a child was badly ill. He tried very hard not to cry. He couldn't speak but he was active and that touched（感动）me deeply." Li said. She then decided to help the children more.

After finishing university, Li became a teacher at the center. She worked more than 11 hours a day. She also shared some videos online to teach parents how to help their children. Now she has a lot of fans asking for her ideas. Li also makes some short videos for parents. In one video, she uses a toy elephant to teach the word"ear," pointing to her own ear and making the child do as what she does.

In the past 13 years, Li has helped about five hundred deaf children go back to ordinary schools like other students. "I am excited to hear the children speaking especially（尤其） when they say'mom' or'dad' for the first time," Li said, "Sometimes, that first'mom' makes me f eel like their mother."

What makes Li special isn't just her skills, but her heart. She carries candies in her pocket to cheer the children up and remembers each student's favorite cartoon characters. "These children's voices are like tiny seeds," she says, "With sunlight and rain, they' ll grow into beautiful flowers."

These years people show all kinds of things on the Internet——good food, nice clothes, wonderful vacations and so on. Now showing the number of steps（步）is becoming popular, too. ▲ ?

People are finding it important to be in good health. To keep healthy, many people go to work on foot. When they start walking, they open the step counter（计        数        器）app in their phones to record（记录） how many steps they walk that day. After a day's walk, some people show the number on WeChat or Weibo. This can make them learn from each other and keep exercising.

"This helps me to exercise much and keep a good habit," Miss Liu said. "I can also talk about how to keep healthy with my friends on WeChat. We are in the same group to encourage each other to keep exercising."

Mr Wu likes to exercise. But in the past, he was kind of lazy and didn't want to exercise everyday. "After I use the step counter app, everything is different. It's great to exercise with my friends.Sometimes there are prizes for those who walk more steps. I really like it," he said.

Walking is a relaxing and useful way to exercise. Both the old and the young like it. Recording the steps helps people develop a good habit of walking and showing the number can make people more interested in walking. But don't take the number too seriously.

When people think of healthy food for eyes, they think of carrots. Yes, carrots are good for eyes. But there are also many other kinds of healthy foods for eyes. If you want to have healthy eyes, eat them.

More and more students in Japan are using AI（人工智能）to learn English and other languages. The language-learning app Duolingo did  survey on how students study languages.More than 4,700  (Japan) students answered questions about their language-learning habits.The survey  (find) that the number of people using AI tools increased by over 80 percent in 2024. AI was especially popular  younger people. However, some people in their 20s were not happy with AI lessons.  said AI was a little boring.

Although the thought of learning a skill might seem a bit difficult at first, mastering something new can be interesting. 

Why learn something new?

It's great to learn something new. "The mental（心理的）health advantages of learning a new skill for children are huge," says scientist Dr Sultana Choudhry. "  " If you learn a new skill at a club or class with other people, it's also a great way to make new friends. Trying out a new sport could help you stay fit and healthy, too.

There are lots of things you can try, including learning a musical instrument, playing a sport or learning arts or crafts. A new skill doesn't have to be a hobby, though, it can also be something called a life skill. This is a skill that you will probably use throughout your life, when you' re a grown-up. It can be something like learning to cook, laying the table, emptying the dishwasher,polishing your shoes or putting away clean clothes.

How do I start?

Think about what you enjoy doing or what you'd like to try. You can look for local groups and classes or see if your school is doing any new after-school activities. You don't always have to go out to learn a new skill, though.  Why not get a book from the library about your chosen skill or even look online with an adult, for tips on how to master something new?
