These years, short videos( 短 视 频 ) have become popular online. Many people make and share short videos on social media. Short videos are usually 15 seconds to a few minutes long. They show people doing activities like cooking, exercising and singing. 

People of all ages enjoy these videos. More than 50 percent of junior high school students say they enjoy watching these short videos. About 47 percent of them have posted their own videos, according to a recent report by China National Youth Palace Association. 

The videos let teenagers see funny and exciting things they don't usually see. Many teens like to share the fun things they do with others as well. For example, a 12-year-old user has posted videos showing her learning jazz dance. This has won many fans. 

However, the videos also bring a problem. Some students spend too much time watching them and don't have enough time to study. 

To solve this problem, some short video apps have added a new function(功能). They will lock(锁)themselves if teenagers use them for more than two hours a day. 

Why not find a new friend in 2025—yourself! Treat yourself with kindness, respect and love. These are things you would expect from a good friendship and you don't have to go far to find them.  What does self-love mean?  Imagine your best friend is worried or sad, then think about how you'd make them feel better. Speaking to yourself with kindness. Be as kind to yourself as you are to others. 

 Because learning to love who you are improves your self-respect. The mental health centre says this makes you believe in yourself and feel that you deserve( 值 得 ) having good things—such as kind friends and fun experiences. 

 Start to be kind to yourself, especially when you make a mistake. Instead of being angry, tell yourself that everyone gets things wrong sometimes. Try not to compare yourself to others.  Write down your good points and ask your family and friends for their thoughts. This will help you see the positives in your life.

Kunqu Opera ( 昆 曲 ) , also called Kunqiang or Kunju, is one of the oldest operas in China. It has a long history of over 600 years and it is called the Mother of Chinese

Operas. But this is not only because of its history, but also being intriguing. It always catches people's eyes and ears. 

At the end of the Yuan Dynasty, Gu Jian, an artist in Kunshan near Suzhou, worked together with other artists and they first created" Kunshan qiang". Then in the Ming Dynasty, Wei Liangfu, a great opera artist, changed it and a new kind of opera, Kunqu Opera, came into being. After that, his student Liang Chenyu made more changes to Kunqu Opera and made the first Kunqu play in Chinese history—Huanshaji. Later, more and more artists started to write plays. In the Ming and Qing dynasties, Kunqu Opera was quite popular in China. It was the No. 1 opera till Beijing Opera took its place. 

Kunqu Opera has lots of plays from the old times. Many of them are still popular today, such as The Peony Pavilion by Tang Xianzu, The Kite by Li Yu, The Peach Blossom Fan by Kong Shangren and The Palace of Eternal Youth by Hong Sheng. The Peony Pavilion is the very best of all the Kunqu Opera plays. It tells the love story between Liu Mengmei and Du Liniang around a number of dreams. 

In 2001, UNESCO listed Kunqu Opera as one of the Masterpieces of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity(人类口头和非物 质遗产代表作). And because of people's hard work, Kunqu Opera is coming back to life.

Don't decide others' purposes by your guesses(猜测). Try to find out what he or she is feeling, and admit(承认)it if you were wrong.

I loved playing volleyball and joined the school volleyball team when I was in Grade Seven. My friend Tara joined it after me. From then on, I was unhappy a long time. 

 I thought I played better than her, others didn't think so. At school, teachers and teammates always smiled at her and gave her a thumbs-up(赞扬) but paid no attention to me. Nobody encouraged me. 

I couldn't understand it. I thought I was  unlucky person. But my mum said it didn't matter. She encouraged me  practise harder and I did. The teachers then noticed me and realised I was good at volleyball. 

I think most students would feel sad if they had the same experience  I did. My advice is to just keep going. Stop complaining(抱怨)and prove yourself by doing better!

I'm happy to tell you some changes about me. 

Here's a story about how I learned to play the piano. For some people, p  the piano is easy. They learned when they were c . I was afraid o  music lessons when I was a six-year-old boy. But I decided to l  to play. 

I had piano lessons. During the first few lessons, I did b  I felt very upset, so I told my problems to my teacher, and asked h  to give me some advice. My teacher said I was not careful enough. I thought she was right. From then on, I practised for two hours every day a  school. Little by little, I improved.
