Habits get created in our brains kind of like the way a groove（沟，槽）gets cut into a path. 

Suppose you ride your bicycle on a path every day. The repeated pressure of your tires（轮胎）on the path wears a groove into it. In time, it's hard not to ride in that groove. It takes effort to keep your bicycle out of the groove. 

Similarly, a habit is cut into your brain. When you do something the same way repeatedly, or for the same reasons, your brain notices. "Oh, this is what we do when we' re avoiding homework? We pick up the phone? Got it. " You get"into the habit" of doing something. 

You may even get pleasant feelings from the habit, at least at first. Your brain says, "Ah, fun and relaxation", or, "I feel calmer, I like this!"

Finally, though, it can seem as if you just end up doing the habit without stopping. You may not know how to get the rewards（奖赏）you want without it. 

____ One of the ways is just to notice them at first. Think about what rewards they give you, Joy? Activity when you' re bored? What do you get out of a habit, or what does it help you avoid?

Then think about whether you can get the rewards you want in other ways, without the downstairs you want. For example, instead of avoiding homework, you might deal with the challenge and feel the reward of getting it done! Notice how great it feels when you don't have it weighing you down. Next time, remind yourself of that great feeling of the pride you felt--when you broke your habit.

The animated film Ne Zha 2, released on January 29, 2025, has become a huge success in the film industry. Directed by the famous director Jiaozi(Yang Yu), it continues the exciting story of Ne Zha and Ao Bing from the first movie.

Around the world, 45 percent of people who needed mental health care in 2024 did not receive it, with problems including cost and being short of providers, according to Huntington Psychological (心理) Services. Daniel Lowd, a professor at the University of Oregon, believes AI could help solve the absence of therapy services. "If people can find some support and thoughts by talking to Chatbots, then I think that's wonderful," Lowd told Newsweek.

Li Yong, a doctor at the Jiangsu Province Hospital, agreed with Lowd, saying that AI meets people's needs for emotional support. By using basic knowledge of psychotherapy, DeepSeek can help with some mental problems through comforting responses. However, he points out that AI cannot completely replace experts because the human touch is important for therapeutic services. Therapists develop a deeper understanding of people's emotions and needs through communication, which allows them to offer more helpful treatment plans.

The use of AI in psychotherapy also has made people question if its answers can be trusted. "AI chatbots will respond as therapists if asked, without any of the management, training or responsibility of a human counselor (顾问)," Richard Lachman, a professor told Newsweek.

The lion dance is an important art form in China. It is performed at many festivals, especially Chinese New Year. Many believe it brings good luck and prevents bad spirits. It is a way to create a festive atmosphere (气氛).

The dance is often performed by two artists dressed in a lion costume. The one in the front is the head and front limbs. The one behind is the back and hind legs. As the dance includes many difficult movements, the artists need to practice kung fu to perform it well.

The lion dance experienced a peak (巅峰) in popularity during the Tang Dynasty, when it was one of the court dances. But its history dates back longer. Historical records show that it was being performed as early as the Han Dynasty.

The dance's origins are not certain. Some say an emperor dreamed of a strange animal after a war. He wanted to know what it was. His advisors told him that this animal was a lion. The emperor thought it was a gift from heaven and asked people to make this animal. The "lion models" were used in the future battles to encourage soldiers.

The global success of China's game "Black Myth: Wukong" has introduced the tale of Sun Wukong to people worldwide. But for Ghaffar Pourazar, a British-American living in California, this legendary character has been a part of his identity (身份). He has spent the past thirty years mastering Peking Opera, becoming an excellent foreign performer in this traditional Chinese art, and getting the nickname "Western Monkey King".

His lifelong love for Peking Opera began by chance. In 1993, 32-year-old Pourazar attended a performance at London's Queen Elizabeth Hall and was immediately attracted. "I was crying," he recalled. "I had a deep love for different art forms before, including acting, dancing, and movement. But at that moment, everything else faded away. I saw all these arts in Peking Opera." With the help of the head of the Chinese troupe (剧团), Pourazar entered an opera school in Beijing. Just three months later, he left his life in Britain behind and moved to Beijing to train in the martial roles (武角) of the art.

Starting as an adult was not easy. "My classmates were all children," he said. "As an adult without any basic skills, it is very hard for you to practice the movements." Besides the physical demands, mastering the Chinese language was another challenge. "I was reciting the words and songs, whether I was eating, bathing, walking, or even dreaming," Pourazar added. "Though it was painful, I enjoyed every moment," he said.

Over the years, he has been introducing Peking Opera and Sun Wukong to international people, taking Chinese performers to perform in different countries. He has also been teaching courses in the US and bringing Peking Opera to Western learners. To better connect with Western learners, he has translated some classic plays such as "The Monkey King: Uproar in Heaven" into English versions.

"I want to be a bridge between cultures," he said, reflecting on his multicultural background.

This smart robot is developed by  university in Zhejiang. The university researchers took (hundred) of pictures of new tea buds and fed them to the robot for it to learn. The robot uses an AI model (recognize) the buds that it needs to pick. 

Then the robot's arm pulls and separates the tea buds from the trees. Next, the arm quickly puts them into a box. After collecting all the buds, robot moves them  the box to a main box. 

The robot is made because there(be) not enough people to pick tea. In Zhejiang, about 400,000 more pickers are needed now. the robots have joined in, tea picking is still a big challenge for the development of the tea industry. 

Because of the hilly ground in the tea garden, tea-picking robots are not (wide) used, but they are a trend of the future. In a positive case, will be possible for the robots to take over the job of tea picking instead of people in five years. Let's wait and see!

Coming-of-age Ceremonies (成人礼)

Entering adulthood is an important step in everyone's life. People in different countries celebrate it with different coming-of-age ceremonies.

Because learning to love who you are improves your self-respect. The mental health charity Young Minds says this makes you believe in yourself and feel that you deserve having good things—such as kind friends and fun experiences. 

Start to be kind, especially if you make a mistake. Instead of being angry, tell yourself that everyone gets things wrong sometimes. Try not to compare yourself to others. Focus on yourself instead. Writing down your strengths and asking your family and friends for their thoughts. This will help you see the positives in your life.
