Many families live busy lives. Every week, the children have homework, sports, music lessons and club activities. The parents are busy too. They work, do the housework, cook meals and drive their children to take part in activities. Some families do not have time to eat meals together more than once a week. Our community（社区）decided that it was time to take a break.

After three weeks of planning, we took one night off. We called it the"family night". It was a night for families to spend time together. Sports teams stopped their practices, and teachers did not give homework.

On the"family night", we decided to turn off our televisions. "We also decided not to answer the phone," answering machines said. "Please call back tomorrow." Many families ordered hamburgers and other food from stores or restaurants so that they wouldn't need to spend time cooking.

There were lots of activities. Storytelling and card games were the most popular. These activities gave families the chance to spend time together. Children and parents weren't so busy, and children didn't spend so much time playing computer games or watching TV. On the"family night", families relaxed and spent the evening together. We hope to have more"family nights".

Last week, our school had a special project about plants and animals. We had to make some  (poster). I  (attend) it with my classmates.

First, we needed to choose a title. Lucy chose"One of the  (strange) animals in the world".

Then, she got some information on octopuses（章鱼）online  (easy). Jack found  article about the oldest tree in the world. He was  (exciting), "We can't imagine  (live) without such ancient trees!" I planned to draw mushrooms. I thought they are important  they play a role in climate. On Friday, we showed our works. And Lucy won the  (one) prize.

We all learnt a lot. All living things are  (connect) with each other. We must take care of them.

Not everyone thinks that children should help with housework.  Others feel that they should only think about school and after-school activities and have fun.

For children, learning how to do housework is an important part of growing up. 

For example, they can help clean up their rooms, make the bed, and set the table. In this way, children learn that a family needs everyone's help. As they grow, it feels natural for children to do more housework like washing the dishes.  If they are doing something for the first time, they should learn how to do it first.

 They think that helping with the housework might make children's lives hard when they should just enjoy being young. They think childhood is an important part of children's lives and that they should focus on enjoying it.

If you asked scientists whether monkeys and chimpanzees（黑猩猩）had a sense of right and wrong before they had a deep study on them, they would tell you that it seemed not possible.

It was believed that only humans could imagine the future. Some people said that most monkeys were cleverer than most dogs. What's more, if dogs seemed unhappy when they did something bad, some people believed that dogs learnt such an action to make their owners happy. It doesn't mean that dogs understand why their owners are angry. It doesn't mean that animals can think about the future.

Now, however, it appears that chimpanzees and monkeys may be able to think about the future. Santino is a chimpanzee and he lives at a zoo in Sweden. He is famous for his bad mood. Santino doesn't like being looked at by visitors and he often throws stones at them. Before visitors walk into the zoo, he must have decided if he is prepared for visiting days. He begins collecting stones so that he is fully ready to throw them when people come to see him. The interesting thing is that Santino would only collect stones when he thinks visitors might come. In winter when the zoo is closed, he doesn't collect them.

Santino's action is a clear example of an animal planning for the future. It's also an example to show "scientific" beliefs come from facts rather than opinions. It seems likely that within ten years, we shall have a completely different view of animal intelligence（智慧）。

Do you know about"lying-flat" travel（躺平旅行）? It's a new way to relax by slowing down and enjoying the moment during holidays. Now, many young people choose to travel this way. Cheng Yi is one of them.

Cheng Yi, a36-year-old worker, enjoys travelling. In the past, she and her family were always on the go during holidays. They rushed to busy cities, discovering more places and sightseeing. That always made them tired. Now, their holidays are more about spending meaningful moments together as a family.

"I used to think of such vacations as a waste of time, but now they fit our family perfectly. We choose places with playgrounds and fun activities for kids. We can relax and don't need to worry about too many people or long waiting lines. Just being together with family at hotels can make our holidays delightful," said Cheng.

More people are choosing"lying-flat" travel as a way to get away from busy routines and find inner（内 心的） peace. However, this doesn't mean they will stop exploring wonderful places. They are still open to other travel ideas.

"Travel isn't just about visiting many places. It's about experiencing the place you' re in and learning about the local（当地的）life. The good times we create together really matter," Cheng said.
