Beijing has given permits to robotaxi operators like Baidu Inc and Pony. ai, allowing them to offer driverless vehicle services at Beijing Daxing International Airport. This shows that Beijing is the world's first capital to have autonomous passenger vehicles between urban areas and the airport. 

Industry experts say this is a milestone for China's intelligent transportation system and will further bolster the commercial application of self-driving technology. 

The permits from the Beijing High-Level Automated Driving Demonstration Area let these companies offer services on 40-kilometer expressways and in some areas of the airport. A safety inspector must be in the car to take control if needed. 

The Beijing government plans to expand the scope of demonstration zones for high-level autonomous driving and start self-driving services in key places like airports, railway stations and urban roads. 

Zhang, a researcher at the Jiangxi New Energy Technology Institute, said the approval speeds up the commercialization of self-driving technology. Other first-tier cities might follow. He also said we need to build better intelligent transportation infrastructure. 

Chen, general manager of Baidu's self-driving business unit, said the company is expanding its robotaxi fleet. Baidu's autonomous vehicles are operating in some cities. The company wants to make the world's largest fully driverless ride-hailing zone. Apollo Go has had many ride orders and patents. 

A report said the market size of China's self-driving taxi services will be very big by 2030. China has policies to help self-driving technology. The country supports the commercial application of Level 3 and above autonomous driving systems. 

The company Bloomberg NEF says the permits will help self-driving cars be tested and used more, especially on routes between transportation hubs and urban roads. China will have the world's largest robotaxi fleet by 2040.

Last February in the remains of an ancient palace in Xi' an, Chinese archeologists(考古学家) discovered several broken parts of a 2, 400-year-old flush toilet(冲水马桶). They believe it might be the world's  flush toilet. Although it's nearly impossible  the upper parts of it, what's left is still in good shape. 

"It is the first and only flush toilet that has been unearthed in China, " said Liu, a researcher. "Everybody on the research team was  when we found it, and then we all. "

Described by researchers as a" luxury(奢华的) object", the toilet is thought to have been located inside the palace. The researchers believe this toilet was  for important people between the Warring States Period and the Han Dynasty and might have been used by Duke Xiao of Qin or  father, Duke Xian of Qin. Liu pointed out that maybe the toilet indoors and connected to an outdoor pit(深坑). The servants would pour water into it every time the owner used the toilet. 

There are many historical  about toilets in ancient China and some ancient toilets have been unearthed. It shows that the ancient Chinese people already realized the of hygiene(卫生). And surprisingly, it  that there is not too much difference between ancient toilets and the modern ones.

Scientists also warn that the movement of species can make climate change more serious. Take bark beetles as an example. They are harmful and can cause more trees to die. As a result, these trees offer more fuel for forest fires, giving off more planet-warming carbon dioxide, reported The Guardian.

To drive the car, drivers or users must wear the BCI device around their head. First, the BCI needs a minute to "read" the driver's brain. Then, the device can pick up signals from the user's brain that work to control the car. This means that users can directly control the car using their thoughts.
