"Forget about Premier League (英格兰足球超级联赛) , go to watch the village super league" , some Chinese people might say to a football fan like this. The village super league or "Cun Chao" in Chinese, is a soccer game among different villages in Rongjiang, Guizhou. It was held from May 13th to July 29th in 2023. Twenty teams took part in it. The matches were so popular that at least one million people watched it on the field and more than 50 million online.

The football players come from different backgrounds. They are sellers, drivers, students, workers, etc. They come from different ethnic (民族的) groups, such as Miao, Dong, Shui, Han and Yao. Their ages are from 15 to over 40 years old. But when they put on their team uniforms and walk onto the field, they fight for their common love — football. 

Like "Cun Chao" , another village sports event called "CunBA" was also popular. The matches were held in Taipan village of Taijiang County, Guizhou Province. Four teams competed in the finals. The winner came out on March 27th, 2023, over 100,000 basketball fans went there to watch the exciting matches. 

Both "Cun Chao" and "CunBA" enjoy a long history in Guizhou. Football in Rongjiang dates back to the 1940s and basketball in Taipan dates back to 1936. At that time, there were no fields for villagers to do the sports. But hard conditions stopped no one. Now, with the support of the government, more people can take part in the events, enjoy sports and live a healthy life. At the same time, the sports events are also helping the development of these villages.

This has brought Chinese shooting back to the Pinnacle of the world after 16 years. It was a match where almost no one thought Xie Yu would win. Having been dropped from the national team and not being favored by many, Xie Yu finally himself. At the age of 24, he has come a long way from a small town in Bijie, Guizhou, proving to the world what a perfect combination (结合) of talent and effort looks like with a heavy Olympic gold medal. 

Shooting is inherently a lonely sport where athletes must engage in extremely monotonous, repetitive training to achieve an internal struggle within themselves. It is easy to practice the form, difficult to cultivate the mind. This is a contest between the athlete and their own self to achieve a transformation from quantitative to qualitative change. Only time can ultimately provide the answer.

Foreigners feel amazed when Chinese people buy everything with their phones．At least，this was the case for Lim Swee Say，Manpower Minister of Singapore．

The first time I ate Sichuan hot pot was in Changchun in northeastern China.I had only been in China for a week when Rui，my new Chinese friend，asked me， "Have you ever had hot pot？" 

"No，what is it？" I answered. 

"It's good.You'll like it.See you tonight at 7？" 

And so it was decided. 

The hot pot restaurant was popular in the city.We found a table at the far end of a room.Soon，a large hot pot arrived.The hot pot itself had two sides.On one side was a cloudy white broth.The broth on the other side was covered with bright red oil. 

"Is that red pepper oil？" I asked. 

"Yes，" Rui answered. 

"You should try it.If you like spicy （辛辣的） food，you'll really enjoy it." Rui picked up a thin slice of lamb with his chopsticks and then put it in the red broth.In seconds，it was cooked，and he put it on my small plate. 

"If it's too spicy，you can use this other broth—it's not spicy at all because it doesn't have any pepper's in it，" Rui pointed to the cloudy white broth on the other side of the pot 

"No，" said， "this is fine." 

But it was more than fine：It was spicy，mouth—numbing，and amazing.I ate and ate until the restaurant was almost closed.I just couldn't get enough of it. 

For hundreds of years，millions of Chinese people have felt the same way：They just can't get enough hot pot.It has always been their favourite food. 

What makes Sichuan hot pot different from other hot pots is the use of huajiao.It is said that the spicy food helps people get through Sichuan's hot and wet weather. 

Nearly as famous as the Sichuan hot pot is the Beijing hot pot.The Beijing hot pot uses lamb and many of the same ingredients （配料） as the Sichuan hot pot，but has a lighter taste.The Northeast Chinese hot pot usually contains pork and pickled cabbage，while the Guangdong hot pot uses a chicken or a fish broth，and is known for its wide range of ingredients.In fact，while lamb hot pot is quite popular，almost any kind of ingredient can be found in hot pot cooking. There    are    as    many    kinds    of    hot    pots    as    there    are    cooks. 

In China，people like to joke that there is no problem that a hot pot can't solve.The fire from a hot pot can melt just about any icy disagreement and warm just about any heart.Over a hot pot，people can talk and share not just food，but friendship.While the food may soon be forgotten，these friendships stay with us forever.Even today，when I think of hot pot，my friend Rui's face immediately comes to mind，and I remember all the good times I spent with him.

Mr.Allen held out a glass of water with three ice cubes in it."Why do things float？"he asked the class.No one said a word.The whole class was 1 .
