How can we relax after busy workdays?Walking through the city streets at weekends is now a new favourite among young people in China.It  (call)Citywalk.

When talking about how children spend their free time,choices vary from child to child.

Outdoor Play. For younger children,this can mean just going outside and running around in circles,or playing simple games with friends.For older children,outdoor play may be a little more focused. These sports help them build up strength and make friends.

Indoor Play.  Young children may be unable to run around all the time. Girls may like playing with dolls together with their sisters or friends,while boys prefer toy cars. Parents should allow their children to play as much as possible as long as they are doing it in a proper way.

Rest and Relaxation.This is not just lying down and taking a short sleep.

This can make time quiet and fun.But if children find reading difficult or boring,they can listen to audio books(有声书)instead.In this way,they can enjoy stories while drawing or doing something else.However,not all relaxation activities are beneficial for children.Allowing children to watch TV a lot isn't good for them.

There's no better way to start the holidays than with a holiday movie.The storylines of these movies are often silly and easy to understand.The characters are not reasonable enough.The plot moves too fast to be realistic.Even so,the happy endings make you feel good.And as it turns out, there are reasons behind the joy you get from watching them.

Holiday movies are usually relaxing.Watching them is good for our physical health.

According to a study published in 2020 in the book Nostalgia Now:Cross-disciplinary  Perspectives on the Past in the Present, holiday movies can lower stress hormones(荷尔蒙)and improve cardiovascular(心血管的)health because the movies are always full of fun.

Holiday movies do more than just benefit our bodies.They can also improve our mental health.Courtney Cope,a scientist,once said,"When it comes to holiday movies,we know they are always going to work out in the most positive way. It's a nice vacation from reality for our minds."In fact,when we are watching these movies,we imagine ourselves in a perfect world.

Besides,holiday movies enable us to see things in a new way or feel encouraged to make a difference.We often see characters that we respect overcome (克服)all kinds of difficulties.The movies serve as a reminder that even in the worst of times,there is always hope.

Moreover,most holiday movies are family-friendly.When we watch them with others,we create shared memories and strengthen relationships.The laughter and joking about an unrealistic  movie create a positive bonding experience,which makes us feel closer and "at home"for the holidays.The shared memories and experiences make the holidays more meaningful.

It was the school's talent show,and it was the first time for Abby to perform with the band  —The Racket.Abby no longer felt  1 at all when singing during practices because she had got used to it and really loved it.However,the idea of 2 on the stage was worrying her.They had spent the last month working hard to perfect the songs to make sure they could  3 a pretty good show.

Abby sat backstage and saw her band members cheering with each other,but she knew how she  felt:4 .She kept imagining walking onstage,opening her mouth to sing,but nothing would come out.

As the band members went onstage,Abby's legs moved and carried her over to the microphone,but her5 seemed to be flying somewhere.And before she even knew it,the first song was half done.It all came 6 .All the practice was paying off.Since Abby knew the song so well,she really didn't have to think much about what she was doing.Suddenly,she realized  that she was7 the moment.She just carried on like the audience wasn't really there,and she felt no different from being at practice.The most exciting part of the performance came during  the song—Let's Make a Racket! In the end,the8 off the stage jumped to their feet and sang along with the band happily.

Abby wasn't too worried about the prize,though.She knew she had already got something even better:the10 to perform on the stage.

Long ago, people lived happily under the rule of a king. The people of the kingdom were very pleased as they lived a wonderful life. Once, the king travelled on foot to meet and communicate with his people.

After several weeks of travel, the king returned to the palace. He was quite happy with his journey and found his people living a wonderful life. However, he had one regret(遗憾).

He couldn't stand the pain in his feet because it was his first trip on foot covering a long distance. He complained to his ministers(大臣) that the roads weren't comfortable and that they were very stony. He said he could not stand the pain and that he was very worried about the people who had to walk along those roads, as it would be painful for them too!

Considering all this, he ordered his ministers to cover the roads in the whole country with leather so that the people of his kingdom could walk comfortably.

The king's ministers were puzzled to hear his order, as it would mean that thousands of cows would have to be killed in order to get enough leather. And it would cost too much money.

Finally, a wise man from the ministry came to the king and said that he had another idea. The king asked what it was. The minister said,"Instead of covering the roads with leather, why don't you just cut a piece of leather into the right shape to cover your feet?"

The king was very surprised by his suggestion and spoke highly of the wisdom of the minister. He ordered a pair of leather shoes for himself and requested (要求) all his countrymen to wear shoes as well.
