 Chinese martial arts, also called kung fu, have  number of fighting styles that have developed for a long time in China. Chinese kung fu started in China. It is as fast as the wind, as stable(稳定的) as the mountain s and as powerful as fire. Kung fu is not only (use) but also graceful. Therefore, kung fu (regard) as the symbol of eastern martial art. Many foreigners want to learn it to protect (they), so more and more special schools for learning martial arts appeared around the world.

 There have been famous kung fu stars  Bance Lee. He improved traditional fighting styles (wise) and played an important role in (develop) Ject Kune Do. His kung fu skills have been kept alive by o- tors like Jackie Chan. Nowadays, many people still learn kung fu skills.

Shailyn Ryan is a 9- year- old girl from Massachusetts. That day, during lunch in the school dining hall, she noticed 1 unexpected happening. Her friend Keira held a hand to her own throw without a word. Her face rapidly turned red, then blue. Though Keira was unable to 2 , Shailyn knew she was choking(噎住).

 Joking around with someone can be a pleasíng thing. However, people may see it differently.  The jokes will become vorse when you show you can't accept them. You need to catch the fine line between laughing with someone and laughing at them.

 To make a tease(取笑) feel proper, we need to consider the relationship between each other. A healthy tease should make both sides feel relaxed . When both sides know it's simply a joke, a feeling of understanding can be created. The environment is important for close relationships.  But it doesn't matter if your sister calls you by your nickname(绰号) when you' re at home.

 Meanwhile, different people have different views on jokes. When making a joke, we naturally see the funny side of it.  We don't know what experiences they have had, so we don't know how they might understand the joke. Imagine a swimming party where one person doesn't get in the pool. Others might tease him or her for not joining in or being unable to swim. But what if that person is afraid of water? Those doing the teasing might say they didn't know. People might have their own personal reasons for not seeing the funny side.

 Good relationships can be formed without putting others down. In our lives, we should pay attention to our words and action s and care about others' feelings.

What should we consider (考虑) when we are joking? (no more than 20 words) 

 If I had a cold, I wouldn't think twice about telling my friends or my doctor. For some reason, however, if I had a mental(心理的) problem, I might not treat it in the same way.

 At my elementary school, mental health was not discussed even once as far as I can remember. This makes me wonder how many other schools are failing to educate their students on this. topic. It makes me sad that children growing up with mental illness may feel like it is something to be ashamed of (对……感到羞耻的) because it is never discussed. When I reached high school, mental health was still seldom discussed. But when it was in the topic of health or biology class,I was given a broad idea that mental illness was a" thing" that really lies.

 In my opinion, overstressed high school students could benefit (获益) greatly from more deep discussions about how to deal with mental health problems, such as how to know when you should care about yourself or a friend, or who to reach out for help. I know my friends and I could have benefited . Even if you personally have never faced mental health problems, someone you know is sure to have, and you can offer timely help.

I also believe we need to formal ize discussions about mental health at an early age, instead of hiding them from sight. At school, I saw a student's report on mental health education and how it can be carried out in the American school system. The student used the film Inside Out to explain feelings to younger kids. This report made me believe that it is possible to start these discussions at a young age if we try.

 Although we can't change the way people think about mental health over one night, there are still things we can do. Asking our friends how they' re feeling is a good start.

 There is great excitement and argument over Artificial Intelligence (AI). The argument about whether robots will replace teachers in the classroom is very heated Some people think it is sure to happen in the next ten years. Others think that the value a good teacher brings, not only to the classroom setting, but in developing a child's confidence and creativity outside lessons, cannot be easily replaced.

AI is not new for us and is already being used successfully in many fields, such as medicine, science and so on. So what does this mean for our future? In my view, AI will help kids to think more freely and creatively. Can AI possibly cut down the teaching work in the future? Of course. Our teachers are always busy preparing for their lessons. Just imagine how happy they will be if they don't have to correct hundreds of papers, but instead, have this task or others done by machines

 However, most importantly, I do not believe AI will be able to imitate the human mental condition totally, especially emotional intelligence(情所 . What makes learning unforgettable is shared experience, the communication between people, and long- lasting positive relationships. For example, experienced teachers can comfort a student if he had a terrible experience. But no research shows that robots can imitate this well.

I also believe we need to develop our kids' personality and their ability not only to make decisions but also make the right decision. To achieve this, depending only on AI is impossible.

 In short. AI has both its advantages and disadvantages. To what degree can teachers use AI in their classes? You can have all the information you want with the help of Al, but great teachers will also need to depend on their own feelings.

 My name is Henry Adams. When I was 27, I worked in San Francisco. One Saturday afternoon, I sailed my little boat but a strong wind pushed my boat into the Pacific Ocean. Luckily, I was saved by a British ship heading to London.

I quickly returned to the house but was told that they had left on a trip. Then I remembered the letter inside the envelope. It said, " In this envelope you will find some money. It is yours for only 30 days. At the end of that time, return to this house. We have a be t on you." How strange!

 Then, I entered a clothes store to buy a cheap suit. When I showed the owner the bank note, he was angry since the salesman sold me such terrible suit.

Last weekend, my parents and I went snowboarding in a village. Early in the morning, we were standing on the  of a mountain. "I can't wait . See you later at the hotel!" shouted Mom, and she quickly went down the mountain. Dad and I  carefully for many times before we get started. But when we got to the hotel, we found Mom wasn't there. Dad said  but took out his phone and called Mom, only to find Mom has hurt her foot and can't walk.

Last Sunday evening, my parents went out for a walk with my sister. But I studied alone at home because I would have an English test. Suddenly. I saw bright light in my neighbor's kitchen. I thought he was cooking, so I went on studying. 

Soon, there was a terrible smell in the air and I thought something was wrong. I went out and saw fire coming out of my neighbor's kitchen. So I shouted "Fire, Fire!" But no one heard or came out.

Failure (失败) is what often happens. It is everywhere in our life. Students may fail in exams, scientists may fail in their research work and players may fail in competitions. Failure happens to everyone. Different people's attitudes (态度) towards failure are different.

Some people don't think that their failure is an important thing at all. So they pay no attention to it. As a result, they will have the same failure later. Some will fall in low spirits when they don't do well in the work. They usually lose heart and no longer (不再) work hard as before. Then they spend their time and energy on useless things. So they have nothing to do, but feel sad and empty all day and all night. In fact, they lose the chance of success.

Now for me, I always find better ways to improve myself after I fail. But in the past, I didn't pay much attention to failure. So I always did things poorly.

According to the report, during the past summer vacation, a 15-year-old boy made a model plane on his own in less than a month. Then he flew it successfully, which surprised all the people around him.

The boy named Li Banghua is from Hefei, Anhui. He made the model plane by himself. It is 0.6 metres wide, has a wingspan (翼展) of 4.4 metres and weighs about 40 kilos. Li just finished his high-school entrance exam (入学考试) a year ago and got good grades. After the exam, he threw himself into the work of making the model plane at once.

Li has been interested in model planes since he was a child. And he has been studying and building model planes for years. This time the model plane is the largest he has ever built and he considers it the most successful one.

During the process (过程) of building the plane, he failed many times. "But the biggest difficulty I had was that the adults couldn't understand me well," Li said. "When I said I was going to build a model plane, a lot of adults thought it was impossible. But I decided to keep on working hard. That is because once I start something, giving up is not a choice for me."

When talking about his future, he said he dreamed of becoming a plane engineer.

In my classroom last Thursday, I sat next to a girl who was coughing. I covered my mouth to protect myself from the cold. However, the moment (时刻) I got home, I knew those germs (细菌) had got to me. I had a headache. My mum took my temperature. Sure enough, I had a fever. I was asked to drink as much water as I could. My dad asked me to stay at home until I got better. I was feeling down because I had a science test the next day, and I didn't want to miss it.

After being home from school for four days, I finally felt better and returned to school. My teacher, Mrs. Jenkins, gave me the science test I had missed earlier. She sent me into another classroom to finish it. The science test was much too difficult for me, but at least I was feeling healthy enough to take it. Great!
