How to Keep Your Room Tidy

A tidy room can help you feel more relaxed and focused.  Here are some easy tips.

Make your bed every morning. This simple task takes less than two minutes but can make your whole room look instantly neater. 

Have a "place for everything." Decide where your books, clothes, and other belongings should go.  After you use something, make a habit of putting it back in its place immediately.

Do a 5-minute tidy-up every day. Set a timer for five minutes and see how much you can clean up. You can pick up clothes from the floor, put away books, or clear your desk. 

Deal with trash immediately. Don't leave empty water bottles or snack wrappers on your desk. Throw them away as soon as you finish. 

Have you ever heard of "brain freeze"? It's that sudden, sharp headache you get when you eat or drink something cold too quickly. Scientists call it sphenopalatine ganglioneuralgia, but "brain freeze" is much easier to say!

So, what causes it? When something very cold touches the roof of your mouth, it causes the blood vessels there to constrict (收缩) quickly and then relax rapidly. This sends a signal to the brain through a major nerve, which the brain interprets as pain in the forehead. That's why you feel the pain in your head, not just in your mouth.

Brain freeze is usually harmless and goes away in less than a minute. To avoid it, try to eat cold foods and drinks slowly. If you do get a brain freeze, pressing your tongue against the roof of your mouth can help warm the area and relieve the pain faster.

Interestingly, not everyone experiences brain freeze. It's estimated that about 30% of people never get it. Scientists are still studying why this happens.

In a small village, there lived an old man named Mr. Chen. He was known for his beautiful garden full of rare flowers. But he never allowed anyone to enter it. The villagers were very curious about what was inside.

During the summer holidays, many parents send their children to summer camps. In recent years, more and more foreign students have come to China for summer camps to learn about its culture and history.

In Yongzhou City, Hunan Province, a group of American high school students and teachers joined an 8-day summer camp with Chinese students. During their time in Yongzhou,They went to Jiuyi Mountain, a famous site connected to the ancient Emperor Shun (舜帝). There, they enjoyed the beautiful mountains and learned about Shun Culture (舜文化). They also visited the Shun Emperor Temple (舜帝庙) at the foot of the mountain.

The camp offered many cultural activities for the foreign students. They tried calligraphy (书法) based on Shun's virtues (美德), played ping-pong and listened to stories about Emperor Shun. Although they found the activities challenging, they enjoyed learning about the rich traditions of Chinese culture.

During the camp, the students stayed with local host families; it gave them a chance to experience daily life in China and build strong friendships with the Chinese students."I have made many friends here. We shared interests and even talked about the stories of Emperor Shun we learned," said Daniel, one of the American students.

The summer camp left unforgettable memories for the American students. Their time in China helped to build friendships and a deeper understanding of a culture that was new to them, "I think this is one of the best school summer camps." said Daniel.

Zhen-Ning Yang was one of  greatest physicists in the 20th century. His story is more than a success in science—it is also about love for his country.

Yang was born in China in 1922. He showed (interest) in science. He studied hard at school and later went to the National Southwestern Associated University.  graduation, he decided to go to the US for further study. There, he worked with another Chinese scientist, Tsung-Dao Lee. They often discussed scientific problems for hours.

In 1957, Yang and Lee   (win) the Nobel Prize in Physics. This (make) them the first Chinese scientists to get this famous award(奖项）. Their work was  (true) amazing and changed how people understand the universe（宇宙）.

Though he lived abroad for many years, Yang missed his homeland. In 1971, he made a meaningful trip back to China by  (he). He wanted to build bridges between Chinese and foreign scientists. In 1999, he retired from his position in the United States and chose to return to China, working at Tsinghua University. He spent his later years  (help) young students, and he often said foundational knowledge is  (important) than any quick success.
