Green City: A Model for Live Green

Green City is a small city in England. It has become a model for live green around the world. Here are some of its successful measures.

First, the city encourages people to use public transport. There are many buses and trams that run every five minutes. People can take them for free if they have a local ID card. This reduces the number of cars on the road and cuts down carbon emissions.

Second, the city has a strict waste recycling system. Every family must separate their waste into four groups: paper, plastic, glass and food. Workers come to collect the waste every week. The food waste is turned into fertilizer for local farms.

Third, most buildings in Green City use solar energy. The roofs of schools, hospitals and offices are covered with solar panels. This provides more than 50% of the city's electricity.

Finally, the city has planted more than 10,000 trees in the past five years. These trees not only make the city look beautiful but also improve the air quality.

People in Green City are proud of their city. They say live green is not difficult—it's just about making small changes every day.
