Nature is full of wonders, and butterflies are one of its most beautiful signs. By watching and counting them, we can help protect these amazing insects— and learn how to care for our whole environment.

How many butterflies do you see near your home? Do you know different butterfly species? Now many people in the UK are counting butterflies. They are taking part in this year's Big Butterfly Count.

It is held by the Butterfly Conservation group. It started in 2010 and is now bigger than any other butterfly count on the earth. In 2024, over 85,000 people joined in the event, providing143,241 counts.

The Butterfly Conservation group does the count each year to help it understand the numbers of different species and where they live. Since the 1970s, the populations of butterfly species have dropped. This is a result of climate(气候) change, losing homes and too much farming.

Rising temperatures also cause some species to go north to look for cooler weather. Holly blues(小灰蝶) usually live in England, Northern Ireland and Wales. They are now flying in Scotland.Red admirals(红蛱蝶) usually fly to the UK from Europe and North Africa in winter. They are now living here all the year.

Dr Richard Fox, Head of Science at Butterfly Conservation said, "We need everyone,everywhere to get out for the Count this year. When butterflies are in trouble, we know that the wider environment is in trouble, too. Nature is sounding the alarm call. We must act now and protect species for future generations."

Taking part in the Big Butterfly Count is easy. Find an outdoor place like a park, garden, field or forest, in sunny weather. Set a timer for 15 minutes and count the number and kinds of butterflies that you see. Even if you don't see any at all, this information is still helpful for scientists.

I remember lying on the grass and counting stars with my parents when I was a child. My life was full of fun then. However, children today are busy with schoolwork or they are glued to their screens. In fact, there are many cool new hobbies for them to see in the outside world. Let's take a look!

Geocaching is a popular treasure-searching game. The"treasure" is usually a box with a notebook and gifts. You can find the box in a park or other outdoor places. Just open the Geocaching app, choose a"treasure" near you, and then the app will offer a puzzle(谜) to help you find it.

Why not stay away from screens and give one of these unusual hobbies a try? They might become your new favourite source of happiness.

One common problem many teenagers face is schoolwork stress. Just try to get organised. Take breaks to rest your mind, and ask for help when you need it. And remember to make time for activities you enjoy, like playing sports or hanging out with friends.

Another problem you might have is peer pressure. If someone tries to make you do something that doesn't feel right, it's OK to say▲. Stay with friends who support you for who you are. Trust your inner voice and be true to yourself.

Another challenge many teenagers face is that they may feel uncomfortable because they are worried about what people think of them. Remember, each of you is special in your own way!Instead of your weak points, think about things you' re good at and celebrate what makes you different. Taking care of your mind and body can make you feel good about yourself. 

Lastly, we know that communication can sometimes be difficult during the teenage years. If you find it hard to express your thoughts and feelings to your parents or friends, try writing them down. You can also ask for help from a trusted adult. Good communication is the key to building good relationships.

People in Kolkata live alife and get along well with each other. All in all, Kolkata is an amazing city to live in. I'm proud of my hometown.

Tangyuan,a traditional Chinese food, always makes me think of family warmth every Winter Solstice(冬至). They look like soft white balls with sweet fillings. Grandma always teaches me to make 1 together. She tells me the 2 shape means family unity(团圆).

 When buying tickets or getting on a bus, wait for your turn. Don't push others. A little patience shows you are polite. If everyone follows this rule, waiting in line becomes faster and fairer.

These inventions are not only making life more convenient for Chinese people but also attracting attention from around the world. Many foreign visitors are amazed by how technology has transformed(改变) daily life in China.

Pallas' s cats(兔狲) are rare wild animals. They live in Central Asia and parts of China. In China,they are under national protection(保护). They look like soft, fat house cats, but they are very different.They are easily scared and shy. They do not like to get close to people. If we meet wild animals, we should stay quiet and keep away.

Recently, a herder(牧人) in Xinjiang found a mother Pallas's cat and her babies in his house. The mother cat looked tired but stayed close to her babies. The herder did not touch them. He quickly called the police for help. Next time, he can also ask other people for help.

The police came and saw the little family. They decided not to move the cats. Never touch or feed them. Instead, they put hidden cameras to watch the babies grow. They also kept the place quiet and safe.No one went near the house. After 40 days, the mother and her babies got stronger. Finally, they went back to the wild.

In Inne r Mongolia, people also found five healthy Pallas's cat babies. Their mother was out hunting for food nearby. People did not feed the babies. They just kept a close eye on them from far away.

These stories show us a good lesson. It is best to let nature take its course. Letting wild animals grow up naturally(自然地) is the best way to care for them.

Nowadays in many Chinese cities, schools have made class breaks longer. They used to be 10 minutes, but now they are 15 minutes. This change is to help students and teachers go outside and play more.

Before, the short breaks didn't give students much time to play outside, especially if they were in big buildings with many floors. Sometimes, schools didn't let students leave their rooms during breaks because they were worried about safety.

Now, with longer class breaks, schools want to make sure students can play and exercise for at least30 minutes every day. Cities like Beijing, Tianjin, and Qingdao have started doing this. In Beijing, they made the breaks longer by taking time from the longer breaks in the middle of the day. This didn't change when students start and finish school.

In Wuxi, a city in Jiangsu Province, schools have 15-minute breaks and make sure students have one gym class each day. In order to help students play outside and talk with their friends, schools ask students to exercise for at least 100 minutes every day. The people in charge of schools there said they want to give the break time back to the students.

In Qingdao, a school started playing different games outside, like jump rope and hula hoop (呼啦圈 ), and also had puzzles to play inside during the longer breaks. They organize the students by the floor they are on so everyone can play outside. A check in May showed that more students in Qingdao are getting good scores on their health tests.
