An American girl named Karana lives on a beautiful island peacefully with her tribe (部落).

It changes how she sees animals. They become her true friends. The quiet island starts to feel like a home. Karana's life changes. She grows from a scared girl into a strong woman. After 18 years, a ship arrives and she is rescued, leaving the island with a new self.
