But in junior high, I wanted to be a "grown-up." Her reminders ("Take your umbrella!" "Do homework first!" "Put on more clothes") annoyed (烦恼的) me. I rolled my eyes when she talked or hid behind my phone. I thought her care was boring. She looked sad: Why does her little girl act this way? but I didn't care.

One rainy Wednesday, I forgot my raincoat and had to wait for the rain to stop after school. The wind was cold, and I felt lonely. Suddenly, I saw my mom running over—her hair wet, holding an umbrella. "I feared you'd catch a cold," she said, covering me with the umbrella. Her cold hands and warm smile hit me: her "nagging" (唠叨) was just love.

Now I listen to her, and share my days. Her words are still my guide. Growing up means understanding how much our parents care about us.
