Neo-Chinese style (新中式) is popular now and you can see it in many fields. You may hear about neo-Chinese tea, neo-Chinese baking and neo-Chinese home decoration. 

When you walk on the street, you can see more and more young people wear clothing with "neo-Chinese parts." This style mixes modern and traditional clothing.  They feel proud of the traditional Chinese culture now.

 They change a sense of seriousness (严肃) into a more simple and comfortable feeling, which is suitable for people now. It also encourages Chinese designers to use more traditional things when designing clothes.

For example, Designer Zhang Yan uses embroidery (刺绣) in his design successfully. He says embroidery allows him to slow down the speed of his life.  He is now trying to pass this relaxing attitude on to others through his clothing.

Lin Taile, a fashion lover, says that when she wore her "neo-Chinese look" in the Paris metro, a local street photographer (摄影师) came to her and said, " Your clothes look beautiful! Can I take a photo for you?"   

What belongs to the nation is a gift to the world. Maybe it's time for us to learn more about traditional Chinese culture and make it popular.

Acupuncture (针灸), or the use of "magic needles", is one of the most well-known treatments in Chinese medicine. It started a long time ago, possibly as early as 2000 BC． In the Stone Age, people used tools called bian to press parts of the body. Later, they used metal ones like gold and silver. Today, most acupuncturists use stainless steel (不锈钢) needles, which are thinner and sharper than before.

During a visit to an acupuncture hospital, the acupuncturist first looks at the patient's skin, tongue, and listens to their voice and breath. They also ask questions about the patient's health and feel their pulse (脉搏). According to acupuncture ideas, the pulse shows the energy level of different body parts. Based on this check, the acupuncturist chooses points on the body called acupuncture points. Thin needles are placed into these points to help fix the problem. So far, more than 360 points have been found, each connected to a body part.

Acupuncture is used for many health problems, such as pain, high blood pressure and stomach problems.     ▲  Besides, it can be used to treat bad habits, like drinking too much and smoking. 

Although it is not fully clear how acupuncture works, there are some explanations. One is that it stops pain from going to the brain. Another is that it helps the body reduce pain.

Acupuncture became popular in many Asian countries, like Japan, and was introduced to the West in the 16th century. In 2010, it was added to the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage List (非遗名单). Today, it is used worldwide, with the World Health Organization suggesting it for over 100 health problems.

"That dog is your responsibility, Holly," says her father. "And it is out of control!"

"But he's only a puppy!" says Holly.

"He's a horrible little dog. Look at my sweater!" says Sophie angrily.

"That dog needs rules," her father continues.

"But Eco' s a free spirit!" says Holly.

"No, he isn't," her father says. "Eco is a pet in our house. He needs to know the rules. And the first rule is, keep him in the kitchen at night. Put his basket in the corner. And keep the kitchen door closed. I don't want Eco in the rest of the house. Do you understand?"

Holly doesn't answer.

"Holly, do you understand?"

"Yes."

"Good."

But that night, Holly lies awake in bed. She waits and waits. When she thinks everybody is sleeping, she gets up and pulls on her socks. Then she creeps downstairs. One of the steps on the stairs makes a big noise. It's a terrible noise. Holly stops. But nobody wakes up! So Holly goes on and goes into the kitchen.

Eco is awake. He wags his tail and Holly gives him a hug. "Poor little Eco. It isn't fair. You don't want to sleep in this rotten old kitchen." She carries him into the conservatory. "You can sleep here," she says. "There are lots of lovely plants." Then Holly puts his basket near her herbs. She goes back into the kitchen, closes the kitchen door, and quietly goes back to her room.

The film NeZha 2 was released (上映) on January 29, 2025. It has become a big success in the film industry. Directed by Jiaozi (Yang Yu), it continues the story of Ne Zha and Ao Bing from the first movie. 

After experiencing a terrible disaster (灾难) called the "Heavenly Tribulation (天劫)", Ne Zha and Ao Bing lost their physical bodies. Their souls (灵魂) were in great danger until Taiyi Zhenren saved them using a magical seven-colored lotus (七色宝莲). However, the peace did not last long. Their souls began to disappear again. That made Taiyi Zhenren face a difficult task-

rebuilding their bodies with limited (有限的) materials(材料) while solving unexpected problems.

The film shows the characters' growth. Ne Zha, who is known for his rebellious nature (天性叛逆)，learns to care deeply for his friends and understands his true self. His friend Ao Bing, who used to fight with personal troubles, changes into a brave warrior (勇士). In one scene, Ne Zha says with courage, "If there is no way ahead, I'll make one. If the world shuts me out, I'll change it."

NeZha 2is not only (不仅) a fun and good-looking movie, but also (而且) it tells us some very useful ideas. It makes us know whatever difficulties we meet, we should be brave to face them and believe in ourselves. This movie is suitable (适合的) for all ages, especially teenagers. It can give them a lot of encouragement (鼓舞) and inspiration (启示).
