Here's a joke for you: Why did the crab(螃蟹) cross the road? It didn't. It used the sidewalk. This was one of the top ten jokes in a very unusual competition held in April, 2024. A small museum in southeast England held the inaugural World's Funniest Crab Joke competition. 

You won't be surprised to hear this is the first time this competition has taken place. It was organized by"Europe's first and only"crab museum to celebrate International Crab Day on April 26, 2024. 

The Crab Museum in Margate asked people to share their best crab jokes and the winners were chosen from a list of 700. The crabs themselves were asked to choose which joke they thought was the best!  After the judges—— including some school children from the area——had chosen their favorite jokes, the top four were written on paper and placed in bags along with some tinned fish. These were then thrown into the local tidal(潮汐的) pool and pulled back on strings (细绳). The first one to come back with a crab that could be placed in a bucket was the winner. 

No rude jokes or jokes that were scientifically inaccurate(不准确的) were allowed. One of the aims of the competition was to get people thinking about crabs and nature, according to the museum. 

This year's winner was:

A man walks into a restaurant with a crab under his arm and says, "Do you make crab cakes?"

The manager answers, "Yes, we do. "

"Good, " says the man, " ▲   . "

The joke here is that the manager thinks the man is talking about crab cakes that you would eat at a restaurant, while the man is really talking about a birthday cake for his crab.

One day, a young king went out to hunt deer, when he accidentally became separated from his companions.  Wandering(漫步) about, the king saw a hu t that was surrounded by a garden, and tending the garden was a young woman. 

The king spoke to her, saying, "Tell me, what plants are you growing here?""I am raising pumpkins, " she replied, "as you can see. " She had a quick glance at the pile of pumpkins behind her and gave a quick smile to the king. He couldn't help but smile back. 

As the king returned toward the city, a thought began to grow in him. "Perhaps, " he thought, "I might think up a test to see just how intelligent this young woman might be. "

The king then ordered a soldier to carry to the young woman's house a new jar without handles. The soldier's orders were to tell the young woman that the jar was from the king, and that she was to put an entire pumpkin inside the jar with a small opening at the top, and that both the jar and the pumpkin must remain whole. 

The young woman returned a message to the king that such a task might take some time. Indeed, it was several months before the young woman arrived at the palace. In her hands she held the same jar, and sure enough, an entire pumpkin sat inside it. The king had absolutely no idea how she could have brought this about!

This was her answer to the riddle: She had placed a pumpkin bud(花蕾), one that was still attached to a vine (藤蔓) in the ground, inside the jar through its small opening. Over time,  ▲   .

Feng also had a hard life in Beijing when he moved from Shandong Province over 20 years ago. His restaurant almost closed down at first. But luckily, some people from his home town helped and encouraged him. From then on, he worked even harder and kept developing beer pies to satisfy every customer. Day by day, his restaurant became more and more popular. He was really thankful for his past experiences. 

Now, when Feng sees people standing nervously at the door, he wants to make sure these migrant workers have hot meals to eat. To him, his job is more than a way to make a living. He can also do his part to help others. "Helping even one person makes me happy. " he explains. 

    ▲    Now more and more customers buy pies and leave them at the restaurant for strangers. Feng's story shows that small acts of love can make a big difference. With every warm pie, he fills stomachs and warms hearts in his city. 

In spring, they are like silver rivers, shining brightly in the sun. Summer sees the mountains turn bright green with growing rice. During autumn, the mountains are gold. And in winter, white snow covers them, making them look very beautiful. These changing colors are what the Longji Rice Terraces(龙脊梯田) look like all year round. 

The Longji Rice Terraces were built by the Zhuang and Yao people hundreds of years ago. You might wonder why the Zhuang and Yao people worked so hard to make these terraces. Well, here are the reasons. First, in this area, there were few big, flat(平的)pieces of land. By building these terraces, they could get more places to grow things. Second, the flat terraces can catch the rainwater on rainy days. This helps stop the soil(土壤) from being washed away. 

So how do the terraces work? There are hundreds of connected waterways. During the rainy season, rainwater runs down the mountains through these water ways and into the terraces. Then, the sun heats(加热) the water, and it turns into vapor. This vapor forms clouds, and later it rains again onto the terraces.

Even though modern tech no logy can help grow more crops, these terraces still mean a lot to the local people and they pass down the knowledge of taking care of the terraces. So, people today still use the old ways to keep the terraces in good condition. Today, people come from far away to see this great wonder which shows how people work together with nature. 

Princess Mononoke(《幽灵公主》)came back to Chinese cinemas on May 1^st , 

2025. The movie first came out in Japan in 1997 and later in America in 1999. It was made by Hayao Miyazak, a famous Japanese animation(动画) director. 

The story is about people fighting nature. After being hurt by an evil spirit(邪恶的灵魂), a young man called Ashitaka travels to find help from the Forest Spirit. On his journey, he sees people cutting down the trees to build their town. This makes the forest animals very angry, especially a mother wolf and her human daughter, Princess Mononoke. Ashitaka thinks it's important to make the town better as well as protecting the nature. This puts him into a difficult situation. He tries to make peace between the two sides. 

The movie is still popular today because it shows the hard relationship(关系)between humans and nature. The characters are not just good or bad. Everyone acts for their own reasons: some want to protect the forest, while others believe it's better to cut down the trees to develop the town. Their different ideas make them do different things. 

Can humans and nature live together in peace? The movie doesn't give an easy answer. But it shows

us that even though the problem is very difficult, we can still choose kindness over hate(憎恨), and try to find a way out.

The most loved activities in Poland were simple but great.54% of people watched films or TV at home. It's easy-you can lie on the sofa, eat snacks, and watch anything you like. This helps you feel relaxed after a long day. Connecting with friends or family is also wonderful, because sharing stories and laughing together can make us feel close. And 39% of people picked traveling. It lets people see new places and taste different foods. That's why traveling is like opening a door to a new world. 

Some activities weren't as common but still fun. Only 6% went to the theatre or concerts. There, you can watch amazing shows or listen to cool music. Just 4% visited museums, but there are many old things and art in the museums, and they can teach us about history. Others enjoyed sports games, reading books, or playing video games. These help us learn new things or get excited. 

It doesn't matter if (是否) an activity is common. The most important thing is that    ▲    , That's the real art of having fun. So go ahead and find what makes you happy!
